I'm particpating in a UAV excercise for the next week I thought I would post some shots as the days go by of the different UAV's and UGV's participating. It's quite the logistics nightmare in getting multiple vehicles in the air at once. There will mainly be fixed winged aircraft, there is even an aircraft that lauches from a tethered ballon, flaps it's wings, lands on the ground and then begins to crawl, our project will be the only rotorcraft involved. It will be interesting to see how the other projects operate. Hope you enjoy.

Hello Perry,

I am interested in getting an Rmax. Money isn't the problem but in the short time I've been looking, I can't locate a distribitor and Yamaha hasn't returned my e-mail. Are parts hard to get and is there a long turn around to receive the parts? Any info would be appreciated and thanks for your time.

I believe Yamaha are not exporting at the moment due to the issues that they had with China late last year.I spoke with people who had one ordered, they had to go to a different platform..

My company participates in this exercise, as well. Speaking of balloon launched UAV, we have the credit for the first such launch using one of our Raven SUAVs and a drop system we designed.

It's an interesting experiment, but there's a LOT going on, networking all the assets together. It is a nightmare. As the UAV operators, we are often waiting around long hours before we get to fly 20 minutes. They are making progress. I have been out to this exercise twice now, and of course I get to stay back home when the R-Max goes out there! I expect to get out there next time, though.

BTW, i don't think you're supposed to be taking pictures like that inside the TOC. The "Doc" may not care for them posted on the Net, especially.
