| Rob ,,, you need to be closer than that or you will put a bind on the servo as this system needs to be pretty close to correct so there is no differentail on the push or pull sides. It don't take that much more to drill the holes in the right place and it will save a servo or two.
You can for a test bolt it up with the holes you have and leave one side off and run the servo back and forth and hold the other linkage up to the ball and you will see how much off one linkage will be from the ball as you move it back and forth to the end points .The correct measurement will keep the two linkages within a really close range of the ball at all times and you need to work with it until you get it really good .
