I removed all side eng mount screws and loosened the bottom adapter plate screws/nuts. That gives enough freedom to get good mesh & vertical alignment of eng/clutch/pinion to main gear. Below is a quote from Chris when I PM'd him with the same question. I will PM you with the whole msg if you want. Rather lengthy! Let me know.

Quote
When setting the main gear to drive pinion mesh, remove the 2 ea 4mm bolts going directly into the side of the engine. Get your alignment and gear mesh set the way you want it, snugging up the 4 nuts and bolts around the base, and the 4 bolts in the triple bearing block.

When your happy with it, now install the 2 ea 4mm bolts, using red RTV as loctite. If the slots aren't a perfect match, it's OK to open them up a little bit, but try installing the bolts first.

Hope you don't mind Chris

forward e-mail

I don't think Chris will mind. It was lengthy on my part. His part was the usual good advice that comes with Bergen support. I'll forward it to you.
