I fly the CY MP on my Sceadu OS50, and it's a real rocket. The engine/pipe combo responds very well and it's pretty quiet to. I was nervous about trying it since it was 100 bucks, and it is made for the OS61, but don't fear -- it works great.

What percentage fuel are you running? I tried a muscle pipe on my Ergo, but as I haven't put the long boom on it yet I couldn't load it with 580mm blades. It had loads of power, I just couldn't keep it from overspeeding with the small blades. I tried it with 30% coolpower. I am currently just running a 60 size muffler which works, but does have the power that the CY muscle pipe did.

I'm running Coolpower 15% -- I've also got the Freya with a OS91 in her, and I'm really letting these things pay for themselves with only having to buy 15% instead of 30%. I flew 45 gallons last year, and with a savings of 5 dollars a gallon on fuel. That makes 225 bucks in my pocket. Needless to say -- I don't have power problems here at sea level with either of my birds.

TT50

Hey Charlie,

How is that TT50 running?
Does it run smooth, and is it easy to tune?
I have a TT46 that I am dissatisfied with and I have been wrestling with the dilema of purchasing an overpriced OS50 or taking a chance on a TT50 that may still have some bugs.
I would appreciate your evaluation of it.
Thanks,
Jerry

TT 46

Jerry,

What kind of trouble are you having with the TT46? I've got mine running fairly well not and might be able to help with yours.

TT46

I have had it for about a year now in my raptor and it has never ran smoothly. It just seems tough to get a good midrange.
I have switched to 600mm blades AND 8.5 gear ratio, and both have helped. It runs ok but just not as smooth and trouble free as the 36 was when all was stock.
A friend had the same troubles with his OS46, and he purchased the newest carb which seems to have helped a lot.
I beleive there is something inherintly (sp?) wrong with the carb on this engine.
I have noticed on ronlund's website that he sells a few aftermarket parts for the TT46 carb, between that, my experience, and reading Vetriders comments about his in a Falcon I gotta think the carb is just not right for a helicopter.

I am wondering if TT solved this problem with the new TT50H.
If I hadn't had great performances from my previous TT36H and 3 TT46's in airplanes I would jump on the bash TT engines bandwagon.
As far as airplane engines go, I am absolutely convinced that TT46 is the best bang for my buck, and I am still trying to determine if TT is the right way to go for helis.

Hi Charlie,
MP with just about any of the new 50's works great, even CY Himself is happy with the results,I've been using the OS's without any problems with the MP,runs real good and will be testing it out on a enya 50 here soon,I know Jim up in Southhaven MI is using the Enya 50 w a MPipe, and he loves it.I ran the combo in a GPH for a year and it was killer,I'm getting the same reults with the Sceadu 50,even with the diff gear ratio. Most important thing is to keep the gap between the header and the pipe less than 1/8 of an inch and no more than a quarter of an inch for starters,Let us know how you make out with it!

Hi guys my TT50 is new and I haven't had a change to try it out yet.The weather up here is crazy(very, very cold)and I sent my body and fins away to have them air brushed and it has been about six weeks now so I am starting to get a little pi$$ed.When I get my stuff back I will get it out and see how it works and I will let you guys know.

estevens: you say that you run 580mm blades on your Ergo.My hobby shop told me that the biggest blades I could run was 560mm If I wanted to run bigger blades I had to get the long boom.He said they would hit the tail blades. Is that not true?
