Bergen R/C Helicopters > should i use a header tank on my intrepid gasser?

After flipping my intrepid gasser for the first time it almost dead sticked.

I have a g26 with a standard gas tank.

Is this normal for the engine to hickup hard on a single flip?

Should I install a header tank?

What is everyone else doing?

thanks in advance for the help.

Check your needles, that is an indication that they are off.

what should i check for?

As a matter of fact, i ordered your tuning cd and it seems to sounds pretty close to whats in your video?

is this a sympton of 1. low end is rich or lean
or 2. high end is rich or lean

thanks,
larry

i started out at 1 3/8 on both i believe. Whatever chris bergen originally told me. I think that is what it is. From there I leaned the low end a little (like 2 screwdriver blade widths) And I am pretty sure the high end is at 1 3/8ths or real close. I know i moved it by one blade width, but i dont remember which way.

thanks for looking and helping

Was this tried right at the beginning of the flight, say within the first minute or two?

You do want to let the engine warm up before going upside down with it.

One way to check your high speed needle is to do a hard, fast climbout then stop it quick and hover. Listen to the engine at the top of the climbout, if it hesitates, then catches, lean the high needle ever so slightly, then try again. Thi is only after letting it warm up for a minute or two.
