I would say either is a good choice for a high-end 3D heli. Whichever you get, get a new OS91SZ-H PS with a ViperHead, shim it to .016, run it in a couple tanks with both needles at 1 turn out, then adjust them between 3/4 and 1 turn accordingly and watch this engine wake up after about a gallon and a half. It's ridiculous power. Run at 8.18 and get a Hatori SB18FH pipe.

Remember the Avant flying in Huntsville is using the programmable head. Flies way different than Hirobo's head, way better IMO

i have an avant just got my stratus today and i know that the avant is way better bird but the stratus has a local support but the avant i have to order from the states

Ask the same question in the MA forum and gee surprise surprise you will be told the Stratus is the way to go.

Any of the new 90's eg Stratus, Avant, JR Vibe even Raptor 90 SE are able to do more than 99% of us will ever be capable of asking from the machine.

Alan Szabo flew the pants of a Raptor 90, He now flies the pants of the Trex 600 and will do the same for the Aurora. The point is these guys at this level will make ANY heli look like the shiznit. I love it when people give evidence that heli A is better than heli B buy siting some video taken at an event. Its just ridiculous. I saw Szabo doing things with a Raptor 50 that I could barely believe was possible. Does this mean the Raptor 50 is the best heli. Of course not. All it says is that the pilot is damn good. So get real boys and buy whatever makes you feel good and enjoy.

The fact that you ask the question here tells me you have already made up your mind so just do it!!!!

You're right but I would like to argue by adding that despite the fact the pilot do play a key role the avionics and the heli itself aren't for nothing in what could be qualified as a splendid performance.

The other thing is that most of us, even if we aren't using 100% of our heli "capabilities"... we do like to own nice machines (mechanically and aesthetically speaking) (just like cars... a Porsche or Aston-Martin driver isn't always driving at 270 km/h but he could!!!)...

If I may add my 2 cents,

I've heard this argument many times before, that the pilot is primarily responsible for the video flight performance. While there is truth in this, there's also more to it.

If you watch the machines in flight, carefully, with a discerning eye, it is possible to notice differences in flight characteristics.

Compare the flight performance of the Stratus, Vibe, Synergy and Avant, in the vids of the best pilots and you should see a difference. I think in the "Huntsville" vids, you get a chance to see young Alan Szabo flying both the Synergy and the Avant in vids: 3, 5 and 8. In this case, the pilot is the same ... so compare performances. If you can't tell or see a difference, you're not looking carefully enough.

The Avant, at least to me, stands out.
