Anybody know anything about it yet. Surely someone has seen it at a fun fly or demo'd it somewhere!?

Never even heard of it, where'd you see it? The only hits I get on Google point right back to this thread.

I work at my LHS and our GP rep told us about it but only had a part number. I was sure somebody would have seen it at a trade show or a demo at some fun fly - but I guess not (or at least they are keeping it a good secret).

GP finally released a picture of the new Helimax Kinetic. Looks a lot like a Raven or Falcon.

Granted, that's just a tiny pic, with almost no details, but you are right, it DOES look an awful lot like a hawk/falcon/raven. I'd really like to see a detailed pic without the canopy.

Sorry, no details yet, just the picture. I'm keeping an eye on it though so I'll post more info when we get some.

What a sad day. Looks like the Century Hawk/Falcon/Raven finally has its own clone. I like the decals though!

Hmm, could this the the 50 sized hawk that was rumored for a while? Going to start a thread over in the Century forum.

I would say, looking through the canopy at the mechanical pitch setup, the hawk plastic head, the torque tube setup, I would say yes, a 50 size Hawk. What worries me is the price on it I have seen listed is within dollars of what great planes is listing wholesale price at my lhs.. I don't see it a very lucrative item or expect it to be about 350+

I think this thing sounds pretty interesting at $299, 500cc fuel tank and torque tube, could be a good buy at the price

I also work at a hobby shop and have downloaded the manual for the Kenetic 50. I have flown a hawk pro for about three years and we sell them all of the time. The Kenetic is a exact copy of the Hawk Pro just in a 50 size. There is a recent post in the Century forum about a Hawk 50 being released in Europe. Century just got a brand new manufacturing plant up and running in China. I think the privious manufcaturing plant that was doing their kits had a falling out with Century. Hence the reason for the recent parts and kit shortage. Also the reason for the new manufacturing plant. The origional manufacturer contracted with HeliMax to do the Kenetic 50. I am getting one as the price is right and it is going into a scale fuse. I also think that the Hawk parts will fit this new heli as they look exactly alike. I will let everyone know when I get my kit. They are slated for release late February. The street price is $299.99. Just for fun I am going to put a Evo .52nx-h in it to try them out. I have a buddy from Canada that is going to do one the same way. This will show customers a buget minded 50 that should fly well.

That Kinetic 50 heli is a Century Hawk Pro converted to a 50 size.

I am pretty sure Century is manufacturing it for Helimax.

The big question here is how much it will cost to fix that heli every time you crash it?

So if any of you are interested in getting this heli, go to the Century Forum here in RR and ask question about it since is the same as a Century Hawk Pro.

Good luck,

Isaac

Parts are cheap. Also GP\Tower Hobbies has the stock parts in stock. They are even less expensive then the same parts by Century. The funny thing is that all of the ball links on the Kinetic say Century on them. I have been flying my Kinetic for several weeks now and have had no problems with it at all. It flies great. It has killer cyclic rate with the stock paddles. I have ordered the closed loop flybar upgrade, as well as the constant tail drive assembly. I just added the new century metal swash. It looks good. I am just breaking in a new hyper in the kinetic. I had started out with a Evolution 52 and found it to live up to the reviews of everyone else here in RR. It was the most inconsistant running engine I have ever tried to make work in a heli. I yanked it out and will try to sell it. It has only six or seven tanks through it. The hyper should be broken in in a few more tanks. It is running consistant as planned.

Just a side note: I noticed that HeliMax is selling 690mm and 710mm blades. I wonder if a new 90 size heli is in the works?????

I was checking Tower Hobbies and they are selling the Kinetic 50 for around $284.00. And if you use one of the discount coupons or ads discount numbers that usually Towers send by e-mail that will be around $20 or $25 less.

For that price is look good but what about other helis that are in the same price range?

For example here are some ones:
Compass Knight 50 Sport is $260.00
Audacity Tiger 50 is $269.00
Kyosho Caliber 50 I think is around $280/290

What will be the best choice? Maybe we will need to do a shoot out

Depends on what brand you want to fly, and which style of Collective you want to have. CCPM or MCPM???? Most modern heli's are about equal in construction and quality. Price is subjective. Parts availability is another issue. Just depends on where you want to shop. Mail order or the local hobby store. I would check with the LHS and see what brand they sell and see what parts are stocked. The biggest problem I see in the hobby today is that to many are buying online and not supporting the LHS. One day there will not be any LHS and you will have a hard time getting questions answered when you run into a problem. The extra savings you may get by ordering online may not be so great when you run into problems and you need help. Hands on help at the LHS is priceless. But is it fair to expect the LHS to help out when you purchased your new toy online? Not sure what the answer is to this trend but sooner or later something has to give. I have owned a Tiger, I currently own an Airskipper 50, Venture 50, Kinetic 50, and a Predator Carbon Max 90. They all fly great. Some better than others. Parts availability should be a part of the equation for purchasing any particular model.
