I hope you get all your stuff in one shot and it isn't sold off. It could be this seller bought the stolen goods from someone. either way I hope this person gets what is coming to them! keep us posted.

It was sold to a local toy shop guy. I know him and I'm sure he didn't steal it. He stopped the auction so I can pick it up tommorrow. But, he buys anything and resells it. He's like, I paid $300 for it. I don't know if I should give him the $300 or insist he gives it back? Jimmy

I might offer him a $50.00 finders fee or turn him in for buying stolen goods.

if he only paid $300 for it, and he's in the business, he knew it was stolen.
Also, I would have to question how a shop owner would be so ignorant as to what he had as described in his auction...

He recieved stolen goods and probably knew or suspected they were hot to begin with.

I don't think you should give him anything.

I do believe he knew the stuff was stolen. But, I do want my stuff back without delay or the chance of it being messed up.

The choice is yours and you want your stuff back, but I'd seriously consider getting a police report. If someone doesn't stop this guy from buying and selling stolen goods he's going to continue to do it.

That's pretty low for a store to do, he knew it was hot and thought he could get away with selling it.
Probably not the first time either, It promotes theft when there
is a willing buyer, he's half the problem.
He does'nt deserve anything, probably afraid he's going to get
in trouble from the cops for receiving stolen property.
You should notify the police about this and update them on the status
of your stolen property, especially if you aready filed a report.
Maybe talk to them first before going over to pick up your heli.
I'm glad to hear you found your stuff, now do the right thing

I agree. I did make a police report when it got stolen. Should I take the police with me there? The police report was in a different county and with the sherrifs dept.

sounds like he is in cahoots with the theif! i would rightfully take your equipment back with no reward offer of any kind and have him investigated along with the person that supplied it to him! might check other ebay posts by him for other stolen items from locals!!. ken

I'd give the law enforcemnt a call and ask them what to
do and what may or can happen , that way you are prepared.
The stuff was on eBay because I doubt he would openly display
it in his store, knowing that it's owner or friends might see it.

Here's the update. I went to get my stuff this morning. The owner, who I knew for the last 10 years or so, was very nice and gave me my Heli and Transmitter with no problems. I did give him 1/2 ($150.00) for the return. He said I didn't have to give him anything, but I insisted. He is working with me on finding out who stole my stuff and we do have some leads. He has never seen these people before (4 of them) but they did contact him the day they stole my stuff to see if he wanted it. They came in (5-4-06) the day after to sell it to him. They found him in the Yellow pages. He is a toy buyer of collectables and old toys. They did want $600 for it but he said $300 was all he would pay (he had no clue). I'm very lucky to have him be the one they sold it to. Nothing was messed with, the Heli flew perfect all day and all my programs (8 of them) were intact and not touched. So in all this, Miracles do happen. Jimmy
