Hi guys, I know that the Mikado's are the most bitchin electrics on the market. I am thinking of buying one. I am looking for it to be able 3D as well or a little better than my Rappy, but not small on size. Which model would I have to get, and where?
thanks,

For what you're looking for you need to get a Logo 20.
You can get it at RC-Direct

The motor/battery/ESC/pinion combination is almost as important as the heli itself.

For a good 3D performer I would recommend the Pletti 300/25/A3Heli motor, Future 35Ho ESC, 24x2400 cells and the 8 tooth pinion.
The Tango motors (45-08 on 20 cells and 45-06 on 24 cells) with the 3SLH controller are also good combos for the Logo 20.

The gy401/9253 combo is great for the Logo too! 600mm blades I have seen performing well on the Logo are MS 3D blades, SAB and V blades.

Logo 20 in scalers

I'm interested in the logo 20 as mechanic for scale projects - Any recommendations as to the best motor/esc combination for scale flying and lifting scale fuselages? Thanks

Motors

The stock Kontronik setup should lift about a pound to one and a half pounds...

this is the motor/ speedcontrol I use and it works well.
I have all that listed on my website.

Kontronik 3SLH 30-14-32 Speedcontrol.
Kontronik 45-08 Motor

I also use the same Kontronik setup as Adam and I have also used the Pletti. They are so close that there's no real difference. Either one will work. The only advantge the Pletti has is that it has a built-in cooling fan.

Regarding the mechanics for a scale. At the San Diego Fun Fly There was a Logo 20 using a Funky Jet Ranger fuselage. It looks better if only because there is no need for the holes for cooling or exhaust.
The performance is great and the high pitch noise the gear makes is very similar to a turbine's.

I agree

The problem is getting the Plattenberg motors. I would almost rather run that system because I can use the Schulze speed control that uses less energy to run the helicopter. I found that I got 30sec to a min better run time with the Plattenberg than the Kontronik. I like them both and either one will work, it is just getting the Plattenberg is the hard part...
Hey Coleopter have you done that school with TB yet or are you going to do it soon I would like to be in on it if you can fit another person. I also talked to JW and he said we needed to talk so IM me your phone # and I will call you....

It looks like I've found my machine! I've got a Funky Bell 222 fuse on order, and if a Jetranger works, so should the 222. Thanks for all the advise and help - I'll keep you posted.

Yes it was John Weaver. His number is (858) 560-9633. He's bringing it to the Vegas Fun Fly. He'll be at the Mikado (RC-Direct) booth.

I'm currently working on a Hughes 500D Fire Rescue with the Logo 20 mechanics.
