Starter....

Yes, there is a very nice starter made by the same people that make the heli and it works GREAT... when you contact Ron ask him about it and I am sure that he will tell you all about it...
http://www.pegasushelisusa.com/
I did get to read the review, and felt that they were a bit light on the "grades" given to the heli.... the way I read it, the grading was because maybe different blades would make it fly differently, or the 10 and 10 didn't work so it was put back to the factory settings and it worked fine.... to me this should have been in the 4's or better because it fully does what it is intended to do out of the box!!! And as a first i/c or a play machine is what it is intended to be, as per the box and instructions....will a different set of symmetrical blades help it.... HELL YES, but don't let it loose points for not having them.... and the pitch settings... well 10 & 10 doesn't work well because you are working with a smaller engine that everyone is not used to.... but mine is 12 and - 8 and climbs out inverted just fine (using the stock linkage and a smooth throttle curve)
I was glad to see the coverage the mag gave it, and you will be QUITE pleased with the heli if you want a fun heli that flies GREAT out of the box, and has room for more as you learn to use it.... guess they can't please everyone all of the time.... Stan

If there is a cure for this, please don't tell me about it!!!

Thanks doorman,
I will check into the starter. As for the review, I agree with you, if the heli is setup as a sport flyer out of the box, I don't know why it should be judged as a possible 3D machine. Yes, there are people moding it, and doing more extreme aerobatics, but you shouldn't expect that performance with the stock heli.

Hey Marks if you check the PegasusUSA website, I believe you will find there is a LHS in FL carrying the Pegasus. Try them.

I'll admit I'm not a great pilot, but I can hover with the best of them.

The add says it has an 18 Nitro engine but no mention of the make.
Who makes the engine used in this Heli, do you have a choice.

I have two IC T-Rex helis with the Leo 15 engine but no mater how I adjust the needles they run hot and overheat.

What does anyone think to throwing a 21 car engine in there?
I have access to one and have heard they have higher rpm powerbands?
But i suspect cooling might be an issue...

Any thoughts would be appreciated

Engine...

The engine that comes with the Pegasus has SMT stamped on the side of it, and I would imagine that it would stand for SmartTech which manufactures the heli....and at this time there are no other options available, but that is not to say that there will not be later...
As far as the car engine goes, yes I am sure that you would get more RPM,and we have a friend that is trying that mode, but he has to re-tap for the needle valve on the carb so it will fit and work in the heli...
I am flying mine with a 2100+ head speed and it does rather well with this setting and 420mm glass blades....
Hope this helps you out....
Not a "total" power house, but once you get the timing down, it loops and rolls without any problem, inverted climb outs no problem, and backwards flight.... even a tic or two!!!!
This is one fun little heli.... and I know I keep saying that, but it really is.....

Thanks for the info, I was however more concerned about the heat generated by this engine than the power produced.

Parts it comes with

It's all built, no servos, gyro, battery, switch that's it. It goes together in less than 2 1/2 hrs.
It works great and is lots of fun flying. Windy or not.
