no cool stories/photos, sorry. question:

when will a blade (whatever blade you know) fly off/break the bolt? it seems that no one exceeds 2100rpm. what will fail first past this?

i got this killer m/r that I have done the force calculations to be good to 2500 with a set of 105gr v 550s...its beefy and was used for much bigger blades. frankly I'm too ignorant to give it a crack now and have already seen what a thrown 660 at 1300rpm does to a garage door and the neighbors' confidence

I'm gonna run it up (just an m/r on a frame with a motor all anchored to the ground) in the middle of a giant field and use telemetry to determine when it blows up.

damn scientific isn't it! I don't have any hard data, but from all the thrown blade incidents I have seen or asked about it has been the m/r blade grip or blade bolt that failed. would suck to have a broken m/r when something flies but its better than finding out in flight
