Hi,

thanks for your message

Just arrived home so as promised here are a few pictures.
I should get the videos during the week and i'll post a Link.
The pilot testing the Yellow diamont ( 3D version) is Alain ( Helikazi).
He flew it 2 times and straight away felt comfortable with it.
After making a few transmitter adjustements with Uwe and his son Simon, Alain could give a little more shakes to the heli
These pictures have been taken by Frederic Theurel ( Helipoint). Thanks to him for letting me grab the pics on the field with the laptop )
BEst regards,

Fabien

sweet pics. The canopy is okay, it's not that bad once in flight, it just is a big step away from the smooth, streamlined canopies I'm used to. is there any word at all on an e-conversion of one of these beasties???

Right now there is a German heli designer hard at work designing the coolest heli, and soon he will be done, and will begin his quest to design the ugliest canopy possible.

Hi Guys,

don't be so hard with the canopy

This is just becasue everybody is used to round canopies that thi one is shoking, if since 20 years canopies were angular then a Fury canopy would look ugly to all

Anyway we have decided with MBS Schulz to offer a econd canopy for wich i am aking the design. This should be finished in 3 weeks maximum, so people can order the canopy they want

Now about Electric conversion: YES too. I'm making the necessary for the motors and ESC right now and firt tests will begin in a few weeks.

I can not say more for the moment, but there are quite a few cool news to come

videos soon avalable

fabien

"why so pointed"

That way if you crash it, it can really be called a lawn dart ...I'm starting to dig it. I like the sharp angled look along the sides. Almost has a Comanche feel to it.

Hi Guys,

ok ok for the canopy, just remember the name ( Diamont) and think about the Diamond shape.. That's all.

Now a heli is a heli and before the look the mechanics seems more important.

As i said in previous messages, i am making a custom canopy for the diamont so it will be offered the choice between the diamont original one and the new one which will be more looking around a mix between freya / staysee / avant with personnal touch, so everybody will be happy..

About E conversion we are working on it as well..

Now about the mechanics, there is the E-Copter repreentative in USA (David Cook) who will take care in spare parts availability for USA.

Anyway, i have flown the heli in Orléan, and something is sure, it will rock and the precision in flight combined with the RZK rotor head is not a saying, it is just simply true and amazing.

Once you see the helicopter in real, even the sceptical people talking about the high price left the field saying that for the price, it was just amazing.

I'll make more reports and i will post videos soon , and after the funfly in zech republic i will post the videos as well.

BEst regards,

fabien

Just a question: why aren't the landing skids like curved upwards like the skids whe are used to see in other helis? Any special reason or is it just to be different? I bet you have to be a little more cautious at the time of landing.
Good work. It's a nice heli.

Is there a life outside the sim?

HI,

so for the landing skids, this is simply because normallly a helicotper is not intended to slide on the ground but in the air ))
More seriously, this is part od the design and the helictoper, beeing a low architecture, has to be landed correctly for not touching the tail on the ground.
Anyway, nothing prevent us to manufacture a insert to make the front of the landing skit up and curved

for the moment we are concentrating fitting the Plettenberg HP370/40/82 brushless motor in the Diamont hehehehe ))

the canopy reminds me of the old woody woodpecker cartoons.i don't mean anything bad by that but it makes me smile for some reason.

HI,
as i said, canopy is as it is ))
But a new one is beeing drawed on Powershape and i hope i'll finnish the design within 2 weeks.
It will be more " conventional" and higher landing skids + tail protection for preventing touching the tail too easy are on their ways as well.
best regards,

fabien

monsiur bricobrac i didn't mean no harm by expressing my opinion in regard to the canopy.as far as i'm concerned and my little knowledge in regard to rc helis goes i shouldn't even voice my concern.i'm totally taken with the machine,i'm as shure as a greenhorn can be it is a precision german thinking and enginereeng capo d'opera as far as the machanical part is concerned,i only expressed a view in regard to the canopy wich by the way it probably represents the name.

I love the canopy - very unique and original - but the price is the killer for me. I can see the cost involved in the machining so its not that it doesn't appear to be worth the price. Will it ever be available for less as a kit?

Has Cranet ordered one yet?

i can't shut up my trap.with my veteran experience of 4 months into the hobby and counting, god willing,i believe even though the price is prohbiitive,it still seems to be a machine wotrh the money.in retrospect what the phouque do i know abot rc helis.

Hi,

the Helicopter is cheaper for USA as you have to remove 19.6% VAT on the price for US

I am trading with Chronopost actually and Fedex to try to find some cheap prices for overseas deliveries with a good insurance and tracking, and i should have somenews very soon ( friday).

About the canopies no worries, we know that the canopy is radical style andeven if i love it personally we are curently designing a new one for US Market. It will be more conventional shape but with our personnal touch at E-Copter

I'll post previews of the 3D work within one week and eventually make a poll for several choices.

A Full Presentation of the helicopter should be posted soon by te way, i'm preparing all te pictures for the details and explanations.

Best regards,

Fabien
PS: Simon, is it the motor i heard about?
