Where are you guys mounting your whip antenna on your AVANT? I had a mini Deans one piece whip. It was hard mounted on the inside of the front frame facing the front of the ship. It worked fine for one flight and now I have a sever glitching problem. I did another range check and I can't get 10ft before it locks out. I think the mini Deans failed due to vibration. I want to try a Revolution antenna as it seems more resistant to vibration (what little there is) and I have NO IDEA where to mount it. There is carbon everywhere .

Most pro pilots got rid of the wips long time ago. Wips are a source of problems with radio reception. Use the regular antenna and install it in the standard hole of the struts.

My whip is mounted to the front frame rail near the top of the engine. The whip faces forward and runs below the battery. I have had it there on several models and have experienced no problem. I usually soft mount the whip either by tape or velcro. I soft mount the switch too.
Personally, I don't like the full length on a heli, and I gave up on it years ago.

My Revolution whip is soft mounted up front just following the curve on the inside of the canopy, but actually not touching it. You can use moderate heat from a heat gun to curve it. I've been flying like this for a long time (10 years +) without any issues. This is with JR 10X system.

The placement of the whip is important so be careful to keep the wire and whip as far away from electronics as possible and don't use metalflake paint on the canopy. This may cause signal reception problems.

Ask two people the same question, and you will get two answers.

I would not use a whip if they paid me to do it.

I never used to run whip antenna's until I had my full length antenna come loose from it's holder and get sucked into the rotor disk. I run a whip on my EVO 90 under the batter tray and it works great with plenty of range. When I was setting up my Avant I could see the antenna vibrating like a tuning fork.

Use the Revolution whip anbd keep it far away from any electronics. It will work fine. In my opinion.
