Hay Guys: Where is the best place to put a remote glow plug
adaptor on the Tiger 50. I don't want to drill any holes in
the frame, unless I have to. Any ideas or suggestions, a
picture would be GREAT. Thanks ! Helinewbee

it's not really needed. the tiger's cnopy has enough room to access the plug with any glow ignitor. there are pics of this sort of topic over on the heli freak website.

besides, with a remote glow adapter, it's just another thing to possible fail.

the only time i'd use one would be if i was sticking the mechanics into a scale fuse.

Well, if it fails , who cares cause the glow plug is still easily accesable with the canopy on, right?

Here is a very popular one.

Although, here are the only ones that I use. Much better IMO. A lot less likely to come off or to accidently short to the engine frame, smoking your field box power panel.

Glow Plug

Thanks Darkfa8 : But on my model the glow plug is just a litttle to
far up. It looks like you can hook a glow plug starter to it, but
when you try the angle is just to steep. Maybe it's just the type
of engine I have on ( O.S. 50 MAX SX ).....But it just don'ta wanta
work! Thanks for the input anyways Helinewbee

Hootowl has it in a good location. I have mine mounted there and there has been no issues with it.

I have a the 50SX-H Hyper in mine and don't have any trouble getting a glow plug ignitor in there. My ignitor is one powered off a panel and I've seen pics of John getting a "jumbo" d-cell sized remote ignitor in there.

to each there own...

I don't have any trouble getting a tethered igniter into mine either, but having the remote mounted like Hoot's would make it that much easier. I think I'm going to go that route too.

I mounted my remote glow in the little extra hole right in front of the header tank (if you look at the other guy's picture in this thread...) It's just below the two fuel lines of the header tank, so you just slip the hot shot in right under there and waaabamm! she starts every time no drilling, no cussing...

Cheers

Looks Like "Hoots"

Mine too..... just makes a nice clean easy connection... and I have only had one failure on this type of a set up in 15 years.... I like "easy"....

Stan

If there is a cure for this, please don't tell me about it!!!
