Hmmmm...

Quote
There are software programs that the USERS can install on THEIR PCs that edit all foul language. Soooooo if they feel that this site OR any other site is TOO vulgar then get the software yourself and fix it for good. Gee, now that didnt hurt so bad did it?

Unless I am mistaken the problem with those programs is they lock you out of the site completely not just edit out the words.
The point I was making had nothing to do with my children. I think alot of users would like to see some of the "childish" post's full of vulgar language edited out. Mark only has so much time in the day and I can tell you if I was in the same postition I would enjoy knowing that certain words that I deemed as inappropriate are automaticaly edited out.
Mark's site. Mark's rules. If he chooses not to do that so be it.

From what I've seen here, most members already censor themselves. I have seen the S word written so many ways that even the best software wouldn't block it all. I agree with the public place comment made earlier. Would you let your children run around at a fun fly unsupervised? Besides getting terribly injured, they would certainly hear some fowl language. Mark can't catch it all, nor should he try. He has done a terrific job of ending the posts that get out of hand. He should be applauded.

Malorie, again nicely stated.

How offensive is it if you have to search to find it? That smoke is starting to get pretty thick.

Mark, By the way you are and have been doing a great job!

However I feel for you, several of these posts are starting to sound like a dry bearing @ 22000 rpm. Try searching for any of those words on the PC at a PUBLIC library. Wow now that is an eye opener! So thats what a human rib looks like?

You guys are not going to believe this. I went into the local 711 yesterday to get a three bags of cheetos and a 340 oz giant gulp, and a diet muffin. whern I saw it. I was standing in line when out of the corner of my eye I saw a "nuddie magizine". I instantly asked to see the four copies. After taking hold of them and perusing them for twenty five minuets I realized, That I should not be exposed to such filth. MY kid could see this. So I read the terriable filth for another twenty minuets and then gave it back to the terriable solicitor of filth behind the counter. Can you believe the nerve of that guy?

WOW!!

I left for three days and just had the opportunity to sit down and read the replys. I agree with parents educating their children, as you can see I said my son probably hears worse at public school than he ever would on here. I do not like censorship, on the same token I do not believe you can legislate or demand common sense or good judgement. I think this site is great, Mark is doing an excellent job and I in no way was attempting to criticize him. I did hear one point that I did not consider that is the most well taken: This is in essence a public place, I did not look at it that way originally and now I will.
There will always be the adult without common sense or restraint that does not care nor consider that ther are or may be children around. I must say that 99.999999% of all the members on this site are respectful of that and would like to thank them..(you know who you are). I know my son has probably heard worse words than the four letter English monosyllables you could print in this forum, both at school, in public, and at home. I am not now, nor have I ever been under the illusion that sheilding him from this entirely would benefit him later in life. In fact I disagree with that fact. We all have to live IN this world, we don't necessarily have to like it or be like it. Thanks for all of your input, and Mark I don't think you missed anything and again, Great Job.
