Avant Aurora - EFX - FX > Quimera on Avant and Freya

I do not know how to load the picture from my gallery. Sorry but you have to visit my gallery.

They are pictures of my Avant and Freya with Tempest heads. They are quimeras but really the best machines that I have flied. They combine the best of CCPM with no interactions with a very good head at a very good weight and CG compromise.

The best one is the Avant but, believe me, this Freya is just like it at a ridiculous crash cost compare to the performance.

One have to try it to believe!!!

Don't you mean chimera instead of quimera?

Just click below a pic from your gallery and copy the text into your post & it will show up.

Yeah, the new CarbonXtreme Programmable Head looks similar to the Tempest head. Can't wait to get it for my Avant!

Wait until you fly an Avant with the new programable head you won't believe how good it flies and from what I hear a lot cheaper than a MA head.

I flew that set up at last years XFC. It is indeed a really good mix. Mooney Driver is running this set up and loves it.

The new Avant head is every bit as good, with some improvements to make it even better. It is not in production yet, but it will be worth the wait.

Yeah the wide delta adjustment range and the offset angle adjustment makes it pretty nice for setup. It also tracks much better and can be adjusted to have more pop than the MA head. I should know I used to fly nothing but furys and tempests before.

God thanks it is -20 outside and it is impossible to fly until the April!
Otherwise I would pop from inside waiting the day when I’ll be able to buy them!
Any close shots of the new head besides the one in Pete Niotis's gallery?

Ray, how about comparing with FX head, could it accelerating that hard?

Garry,

The delta can be adjusted to that response. The thing you need to keep in mind is that delta response is also a function of your dampening. If the dampening is too hard then you won't have enough travel and the acceleration you talk about gets minimized. So our experience with the programable head is that the way to do it is to soften the dampening a bit so there is dampening movement that you can use to activate the delta effect. In the case of the FX the x-spec bladegrips have play in them and that gives you the delta movement but the problem with that is that since it's free play without dampening it will also make it unstable and makes it go out of track when using fast blades. In the case of the programable head the dampening provides the needed travel without the instability

Augusto.
