well, if you read his advertisement, he does say 'aftermarket'.

carbon booms are a great mechanism for separating fools from
their money.

I use the Hirobo carbon boom because it's a lot lighter than the metal one so it's easier on the sudden pirouete reversals. It doesn't have the cool look of other carbon booms but what I'm looking for is for it to be lighter in general and to have less inertia on the fast piro reversals cause it makes them look a lot more aggresive.

Augusto.

thank you, Augusto. But I still don't feel good about using the carbon boom for 3D. It just looks so damn fragile.

I suppose the other reason is that if you have belt drive the aluminium boom will shrink in cold weather.

While we are about it there is serious reason to consider the hirobo carbon boom supports since it is weaved carbon. I always use that instead of the aluminium support. In fact I replace my Sylphides' carbon booms supports with the Hirobo carbon ones since they're easier to handle and there's no need to align the ends since the Hirobo ones already have the requisite holes drilled.

TMoore, what do you mean by that?

If ultimate weight savings is what you are after then just run the engine a little leaner as compared to the aluminum boom. If it is pirouette speed and inertia now that is a horse of a different color.

I'm still not sure that a carbon boom is the ultimate answer. Perhaps thinner wall alloy would do as well.

I thought that was what you meant, but why sacrifice the engine when you can get a carbon boom, it would just be a "compromising" trade off.

I switched over to carbon booms on my Avant(s) and my everyday X-Spec OS70 Ship.

Direct replacement, no need to order the EX boom clamp. Also the OD is just a bit smaller that the standard boom but all seams well. I have put this carbom boom through the ropes with my X-Spec OS70.

Love em.

I don't run a very small pack.
My battery pack is 2700 mah so I know it's smaller than the behemoth you use but I think your pack is an overkill elephant sitting in the front and I don't like heavy passengers hehehe .
