LOVE the new Spectrum DX6!!!

WOW!!! No more glitches....... NONE!! I cant get it to glitch if I try! Very small and light Rx. My only "con" is that the throttle is VERY notchy......So what you do is take out the 6 screws from the back side and unsrew the little metal tab that is flexed against the throttle gimmble. Just flip the tab over and screw back snugly. It makes it not notchy, but still has presure on it (the way it sould be for heli's).

There IS a 10 channel model comming in 5 months that is minimum 8 point curves, longer range for full size nitro's, CCPM 140, ....and nice BIG lcd (simular to the 14-MZ) Cost is @ 600 but it keeps changing (1st it was 450....)

Anyhow......It sure is nice to rant about something FINALLY that works perfect and OMG I almost forgot THE most important thing!! The PRICE!! $200 !!!
It seems they are not blood sucking leeches waiting for any opertunity to make a buck!!!!

I have Spektrum on my trucks and LOVE it!!! after my first runaway I put this unit in one of my trucks, now they all have it. Never had a problem or glitch since switching to it.

I run a Swana Airtronics radio for my trucks. I have a moduel that pops into the back of the radio.

I really hope that Spektrum makes a moduel for Futaba, JR, and Airtronics.

I personally flew a JR 9303 with a spektrum module. The short rubber antennae nub was wired externally from the module and attached at the stock antennae base location. I flew a T-rex with it. The owner visited our field and said he was a developmental engineer for JR/Horizon. I have high hopes of receiving a module for my JR 9303 some day. Of course, he was very tight lipped about everything, and when I call Horizon, they are all "in the dark".

The spectrum uses 2 of the 80 available channels. That leaves 40 channels available for use. Just as a matter of interest, what happens when pilot #41 turns on?

I just went to my LHS this saturday cause there was a horizon rep there to talk about it. When the 41st person turns on it will just beep and say error he said because there are no available channels.

Not unlike your cellphone which shares a small # of frequencies for all
users.


Unlike current narrow band 27 and 75MHz systems, Direct Sequencing Spread Spectrum or DSSS generates a wide signal on a single frequency, and information is encoded with its own Globally Unique Identification number (called GUID) such that the receiver only recognizes the information from its specific transmitter. And with over 4.2 billion available GUID codes, it is virtually impossible for a receiver to be controlled by anything other than its mating transmitter. Spektrum calls this optimized form of modulation DSM-Digital Spectrum Modulation.

I bought one, and I do hope that it is flawless, but you will not see me do 2 flights on it and then claim to the world that it is perfect. It will take at least 4 or 5 flights for that.

Afte a whole weekend of flying I give it uber high marks as well. Did a pretty good review of it on the thread.


I did a very similar thing to what you did for the throttle. Except I just slid a piece of fuel tubing over the end of it.
