Can someone who owned both give some insights about Gohbee 50 vs Evo 50 in regard to flying stability and controls?

Thanks

The EVO 50 is the best flying 50 size helicopter out right now.

no comparison

EVO 50 by far the hands down most stable 50 class ship on the market for the price.....rock solid bone stock right out of the box...

gohbee, I've never actually owned one , but seems to me its another knockoff heli copying bits and peices from the raptor line and others....plus the parts lack in quality from the pictures I've seen....

as I said, its like compairing apples to oranges

Evo & Gohbee

One of the guys I fly with has a Gohbee 50. At one time he had owned a Evo 50. He sold the Evo when he moved up to 60 size birds. More then once I've heard him say he wished he kept the Evo.

The quality between the two goes to Hirobo. The parts durability goes to Hirorbo.

It's very difficult to get a tail on an Evo to brake; however, that happens very easily on his Gohbee.

No question about it, Hirobo is the better model.

What part of the Evo tail are you referring to: tail boom, tail box, etc. ?

As the only person in this thread that apparently has owned both, let me comment.

The Evo is a better machine than the Gohbee, as stated above. This comes from experience with both helis. So, if those two helis are the only choices you are looking at - go for the Evo. It is made of finer materials, goes together better, and flies better than the stinger. But, the stinger is a lower cost option - you get what you pay for in this hobby.

If you are interested in other helis - The Raptor and Tiger are both good choices as well. I dont think you can go wrong with any of them.

Lets not let this honest question turn into a fanboy or flame war thread. If you have personally owned both machines and disagree with my opinion, thats cool, I would like to read your opinions as well.

I have both in a .50 and the EVO is a better heli, no question. In flight they seem comparable to me, but my skill is limited to hovering and FF. I still fly the Stinger and plan to try new things on it BEFORE I try it with the Evo.

The Stinger has lasted through an entire summer "12 gallons" of general newbie abuse. Crashes, hotstarts and other general misuse. Starting to show a little slop in the main bearings but otherwise flyable.

Only complaint I have about the Stinger is the Q.C. of replacement parts. Some parts have required a little modding and a few have just been plain made wrong. Gohbee has stood behind everything.

Best thing about the Stinger has been that parts are inexpensive and they have been really good about shipping the same day.

All in all its just like oneinnesja said, you get what you pay for.

Still flyin blind.......

I used to think that, but thats not always the case. Sometimes you get more for less.

My turn! Yes I have both. And the envelope please. The winner is: Stinger. A surprise win for the unknown, new kid! I like that both the EVO and Stinger are underslung flybar heads. They both fly good but the Stinger really flies great. I've been paid millions of dollars to give you this unbias opinion. I just love the way the Stinger flies. My favorite 50 size heli is still the Raven. However, the Stinger not being ECCPM makes it much easier to set up.

Sticky,
In your opinion, do you think the Stinger parts don't fit together well? As in, they're not precisely manufactured?

I don't own an Evo but I do have a Stinger 50. I think the stinger is an excellent machine for what it cost. I did have a few issues with a couple of parts but they were minor. My brother-in-law also owns a stinger 50 and has crashed his several times. The only parts that have been damaged were main blades, tail boom, main shaft, spindle, flybar and the canopy. Take a look at Gohbee's site and see how low priced the replacement parts are.

Contrary to what what most non EVO people believe, the EVO parts are very inexpensive. The quality is very good and everything fits like it is suppose to,and the heli is very easy to build.. And it also flys very good. The only thing i added to mine was a quick UK blade axle, the stock on bends fairly easy. DOUG
Blade axle Quick UK $6
mainshaft Quick UK $8
maingear $5
boom $8
and the list goes on

I can neither confirm or deny if there is a problem with parts missfitting on the Stinger. I just haven't replaced that many parts yet. The only item with an ill fit is the canopy, it's not the best fitting one I've ever had. I replaced the stock head with a metal one and everything fit fine.
