The Avant that's compatible with the X-Spec is the Avant FX.

I am in the same position. I want to upgrade to an Avant. What is the difference between the FX and EFX. I have emailed CarbonXtreme, but have NOT got and answer to that question and they DO NOT have a phone number on their site. I have an EVO 90 and X-spec 90. Is it just the heli they fit or is there a difference in the kits?

Thanks,
Mike

Duh - Augusto answered your question.
And before you go off half cocked, do a search and figure out who Augusto is.

Correct me if I'm wrong, You can upgrade to the EFX Frames for your Avant Conversion to take advantage of the larger fuel tank that the Evo has.

The primary advantage of the Evo is the head. I'm currently building 2 of each. 1 set will be for FAI & the other set will be for 3d.

To most people it might sound like over kill but I think it's best to build a ship for it's purpose, too much effort to keep changing between the 2 setups.

Nas,

btw: If you have the X-Spec just convert it to the Avant FX and you can't go wrong. If your fly'n skills are not at a professional like Ausgusto or Pete's this would be one Heli that you will just grow to love.

Oh, Don't let me forget Garyboy . . . Nice 3DM Fly'n . ..

Hi Nasscar
Could you go into a little detail on the differences in setup for FAI and 3D.
I am putting my EFX together now and am not entirely sure of the various settings to use. There are a lot of permutations.
Maybe Augusto could chime in if he has a few minutes spare..
If its already on another thread I am sorry to double up. Point me in the direction of it with a link.
Variables I can see are :

Flybar lengths 490, 535, 555mm (short for FAI, long for 3D?)

delta spacers X 3 (thin for stability, Thick for 3D?)

Mixing arm mounting hole (not sure, Avant manual has no recomendation, but picture is the innermost hole of the three alternatives)

Holes on the mixing arms themselves (Avant manual uses innermost and outermost with no mention of alternatives or what the effect is of each)

Thanks for the input guys.
Regards Stuart

Sorry Georg, my mistake!

Now for the pat on the back. Agusto saw my post, pm'd me and answered my question and said he would find out why my email was not answered in a timely manner. Thanks!!

I will be upgrading my Evo 90.

stules,

Being as though I haven't completed either of my Avant EFX kits yet I can't answer your question.

Hopefully Master Pete Notis can jump in and provide some guidance.

This would be an execellent discussion, If I remember Ausgusto's comments that he has had many request for Avant Kits for people who plan on setting up their Avants (FX & EFX) for the forth coming 2006 FAI Schedule.

I guess Augusto can provide an overview on setup theory for FAI / F3C flying style, but "that man" is a hard 3d master who knows how to stretch the limits of a heli. That's one of the key factors of the Avant besides the durability.
