Gohbee Aviation Stinger 30-90 > Gohbee Stinger 50Deluxe

Hi All,

I just recently got a Gohbee Stinger 50Deluxe and I absolutely love it. It went together VERY fast (arf) and it flies very good. Unlike Raptor etc. it doesn't "need" lighter paddles and it's already featering a metal head.
I was also suprised to find that the Stinger with metal head weighs the same as a plastic raptor.

Anyway, I would like to hear some people who have been flying it longer about the wear&tear as it gets older.

How does it last?

Cheers,

Richard

After a year and a half and 10 cases of fuel the only wear issues that I have had are the dampers.
With the the stock dampers I can only abuse them for 3-4 gal of fuel before they go bad. When they go "bad" it showes up as the tracking starting to drift out.
They are only a couple of bucks and it takes about 10 min to replace them.
The new "On Edge" damper system is supposed to take care of this issue.
I just recieved a set but have not yet had a chance to try them out.
Other than that the only parts that I have had to replace were splindles, mainshafts and bearings from landing in unauthoized orientations.

My Raptor is now a dedicated night ship.

I just got a Stinger 50 and I love it. I have the D/R turned down pretty low and this thing is still very responsive. It flies very smooth and there is no pitchiness at all even in high winds.

Guys,
I keep hearing that Gohbee is cheaply made. Things don't go together that well. The materials don't look and feel as good as the Raptor and Evo. And that you get what you pay for. Can someone with Raptor and Evo please validate this?

I have flown raptors for the last 4 years. I bought a Gohbee 50 at IRCHA last year and will never go back to a Raptor. Yes a few of the parts may not be as good quality as a Raptor. But big deal the heli flys so much better if I have to replace a part every now and then so what.
Tim

Does anyone know if David has the Gohbee50 in stock yet?
Also I have been flying the new o-ring dampeners for a few months now and love them.

What is more important to you, The look and feel of the parts or the flying quality???

Scott I was at the Rotary Ring out with the Stinger 90. I met so many good people there, that I do not remember most of them. I have some night flying plans for this summer that will hopefully be cooler than my exploding Raptor night flight (and hopefully be easyer on my budget ).

All of the backordered Gohbee stuff is in the USA now on a slow cross country truck.
With some luck by the end of this week, Gohbee will have it and then a couple of days to unpack and inventory it all.

The Stinger 50 is great!!! I have owned a Venture, Voyager, Tiger 50, and Raptors. The Stinger flys better than anything I have ever tried. Some at my field will only fly JR helicopters because of the quality which is good, but they are twice the weight and do half the stuff the Stinger can do. So what is the point of having great quality if it flys like a brick?

How about the ARF work, are the parts put together well? How is the manual?

Not much to put a stinger together. Put the tail on and install electronics. The manual looks as good as the one for the raptor. One thing that I really like about the stinger is the adjustable phasing ring. The phasing on a Raptor is fixed where the stinger is adjustable allowing really nice flips with no twisting.

Cub If you are into quality get an airskipper but if you want a rocking 3d monster thats easy to fix get a couple of stingers and have a blast.
