e-Align T-REX 250-450-500-600 > IMPORTANT - SE Tail Hub - HS1127

I had a tail fail on one of these units yesterday, and it had the black hex heads in it. I was inverted in a 20' hover when I saw something fly off and the tail let go, post crash inspection showed a missing tail grip assy. and the screw broken off inside the tail hub.

Ignorance is curable, stupidity is for life.

Hey RobRoy, I had to order some parts to repair the damage such as the linkage that goes to the tail blade holders and I came across this. You might want to give it a try too.

Steel or aluminium

Is this hub made of steel or aluminium?

Tail hub from helidirect

Yeah I was wondering about that too but it says that it's designed to be a replacement for ALL Align tail hubs. I've ordered it already so I guess I'll have to wait and see.

HS1147

I have that on may tail now, but not sure if its steel. Cos i still having the nasty tail resonance, just reduced it abit by a metal boom. Anyone can confirm if its steel?

Else thinking of changing to microheli hub & tail blade holders.

The hub that comes in the HS1147 is aluminum. Not sure about the HS1147 that has the two bands around it as we don't have that one for sale? The hub that comes in the HS1150-75 is steel. If it's steel or S/S the magnet will stick to it.

Take Care,
Cheers, Patrick

I called Align USA and they said that the hub that comes in #1147 is steel. So I bought #1147 instead of #1150-75, It's in the mail. I'll be Bummed out If I get it and it's the same as the one I got. I debated to myself and got cheap and went with the #1147

My order for the steel balls pack came with the steel hub with 2 grooves... now i got a spare one! Din know that the new ones were packed with the 2 grooved steel hub.

Anyway... i realised that the no. of steel balls in the pack s not engouh for the entire heli! Now gotta see if anyone wants to share a another pack with me... they're not cheap too!

I noticed that too Kam, Kinda pissed me off... I just put stell ends everywhere but my swash, which the ball links are almost impossible to get back off anyway... heliup did a pretty good job with the glue to keep those links in place....

But Honey, I can't live with just stock.....

Just buy another S/S ball set HS1155 it only cost $11.99 and you get another 16 S/S balls to finish off your helicopter. If that is too expensive then you should look into another hobby like bowling, lol.

Cheers, Patrick

Its not just too expensive but i dun like having excess parts lying around like the hub & see-saw posts (not sure wat they called). U must have alot of bowling balls lying around your house patrick!

Anyway I just tot of another good tip. Currently i have the silver coloured steel ball set. Am planning to get another pack but in bronze colour. Will use the bronze one for the tracking adjustment side of the linkages. Then can easily see, without the use of paint, to mark out which side for tracking adjustments.

The HS1155 only comes with S/S balls and screws, no flybar control arms or tail hub in package.

You guys are talking about just the SE right. I want to get the T-rex CDE XL and am planning on using it for HARD 3D. (3000 or so rpm) will the stock tail be fine. The only upgrades i plan on is the head and swash.
