| Just one, climbout power is more consistent, similar to the Fury. I am comparing just Avant with dural head leading edge(different from Xspec) with Tempest head.
The Xspec head leading edge is, to me, a bit tricky as it does not track very well. I think the plastic grips may bend a little on the pitch arms but I am not sure what it is, I have not studied it well enough. To me the grips on this head go better on the trailing edge. But again it may be only due to my flying stile, I do not know. The down side of the trailing edge is that the machine loses collective response.
When I noticed that the plastic grips did not work for me I changed to the metal ones with the spacer that CX gave me. This is a very good performance head. Comparing it with the Tempest one I would say that it behaves better in fast forward flight, it is more stable, has more cyclic power, and it is less pitchy. The only down side towards the Tempest head to me, in performance is that it does not seem to have the same climbout power. This may look a little stupid with so many advantages but again, to me and may be only to myself is enough. To many people it may seem silly to I do not want to advise of this change to anyone just to persons with my same preference. They may be myself only.
Mechanically the pitch arm of the dural Hirobo head does not look as strong as the Tempest but I have not had any issues with it, so this is just a futile comment.
Regarding how to build up the Tempest head, I will post another one this evening of how I have done it with better results. I am running off time now… |
