spindle diameter

I assume head spindle is the main blade axle? Guess you have different terminology in Canada.

hey , there is a few things I noticed at IRCHA , a few stunts that he use to do with the Ion and Fury , in a Hurricane , changing from a backwards inverted flight to a forward flight , I wonder why , also I see its like a FAI style heli and not very aggressive like the Fury line up

Instead of "wondering" and trying to stir "something" up with your remarks, PERHAPS you'd do yourself a favor and email Synergy directly to find out.

What is it about this heli that has some (MA) users so worried (yep, you know who I'm referring to)?

Synergy, FAI vs 3D

How can anyone postulate that one of the pioneers of (Todd Bennett) and one of the best of (Jason Krause) 3D pilots to ever fly would build an FAI version?!

well , not really FAI , but there is a few tricks that he dont do with this heli , and Im wondering why , Jason has always been a joy to watch , I have a pile of videos of his style of flying ( Synergy, & fury's), but if there is a reason why hes not doing them, I would like to know , is all Im asking ,
what will happen , boom strike ? or it just cant do them ,
when they start selling kits , and everyone is flying the dog out of them , and a few start flying like he did with the furys , and something happens in the process, like it explodes , like I seen a few rappies do , I do know Todd and Jason are on the forums , so saying them here will work just like an email

Believe it or not, you're instigating. You can't just assume that Jason's choice of maneuvers is indicative of a faulty machine. Ever consider that he just doesn't want to?

Hi Misskimo

Bear in mind that it is or certainly was at IRCHA a prototype machine, if he crashed it due to a risky manouver then it would be a real head ache to rebuild with no off the shelf parts available.
Jason would also be a little nervous one the first few public flights, he has everything to loose by crashing it, if it was his fault it looks bad on him or worse still if guys think the model let him down then it would do huge damage to the models reputation.

Cheers

Misskimo, You should like this chopper. With such a large main gear, just think of all the gear ratios available. Should make an easy electric conversion. And I would be willing to bet you wouldn't have to worry about stripping gears like the fury! Over the years I learned to wait before buying a new model. But not this time, this is the one time I have absolute confidence that this model will perform as promised. This heli was designed buy one of the best pilots around, not by someone behind a desk. Just wish they would take preorders.

hey , I was looking at converting , he he , but the main gear I stripped in my fury conversion electric wasnt due to just the raw power it has , well , it does kinda , it broke the motor titanium 5mm shaft inside the pinion MA gear , then after replacment of the maingear , it broke the motor shaft in another spot that was noticed,

Goodrum has in fact encountered stripping in various brands including the fury. Maybe its because he is not happy unless it can accelerate from zero to supersonic in 2 seconds!!!! He is always pushing the limits.
Seriously though, these electrics are developing some serious horsepower. You should know that if anyone. A stronger main gear would be just what the doctor ordered. Then maybe Goodrum wouldn't have to develop a belt drive system.

hey , on the stock Ion with the stock 95t main and 10t pinion , I can run 5 HP through it all the time on 58 volts with the actro 32-4 ,
the bigger gear sure looks great on the synergy though, thats why Im looking forward to this heli

hey , I know theres nothing to fancy about my flying style , but this past summer was my first at flipping and rolling into somewhat 3D . later after IRCHA I did produce 5.8 HP with this setup , 4357 watts, from this setup here in this video , I changed to a set of V blades 710 flashers from a set of MAH 710 tapers , now those Vs rocked , motor loved those

5HP??? That's incredible. I wouldn't have the #%$)% to connect the wires. Gee, that thing could slice and dice just about anything.

Thanks for sharing the vid.
