I am just starting out with a Caliber 30 and have been advised to learn to hover with 60 series floats, so I don't damage the heli while I learn. Is this better that using the dowels and balls? The heli seems heavy with the floats, should I try the dowels? I can post a picture if you like.

Thanks for you input.

Unless the floats are HUGE, I'd use the ball and dowel setup. You want to use whatever will give you a larger 'footprint' . The bigger your landing base, the less your chances of a tipover will be. Plus, ball and dowel setups are lighter, so when you finally remove them, your change in flight characteristics will be less drastic.

I used balls and dowels when starting my Cal30 for the first time - it went oki - but it caused vibrations
So they came off for the next start
