| Ok, I Don't have a tiger, I have a Venture, but this board has more Venture specific info then the JR one, so I'll try you guys.
Basic problem:
Sloppy grips/head
Previous solutions:
Ergo grips
KSJ Thrust Bearings
KSJ Spindle
KSJ Dampers
This solution netted less slop by about 50% and the head seemed stiff. Tracked it and flew it, went out of track. Checked the head, it loosened up considerably.
Tiger 50 Grips
80* Yellow Dampers
Same KSJ Shaft and Thrust bearings
This set-up seemed to be the bees knees, seemed almost slop free on the bench. The dampers feel great, still some minor slop in the bearings/grips, so it seemed. Did a couple flights with some loop, roll, flip action and it went out of track. Check the grips and they are just as sloppy as the ergo ones were, after 2 flights.
Under close inspection, it looks like 50% of the slop is bearing to grip, and the other 50% is bearing to spindle. Does anyone know if the Grip bearings for the Venture are the same ones and the same source as the tiger ones? I'd really like a slop free plastic set-up w/o having to convert to Raptor grips and spindle (though they are TIGHT). If it's just a matter of switching to the Tiger bearings and a new set of Tiger grips, I'd be more then happy to do that... |
