I put a e-flight brushless 400 4200kv in my blade today and it had insane climb out. only needed about 60% on throttle curve. the motor has to much power wich means its just right. I also am still using stock tail motor and 4 in 1. Tail holds good it could always be better but good enough for loops and rolls invert is easy now with all that power

are you using the 4n1 or did you change to seperates?

Heh - Yeah - give it up. We'd expect more info if it were tried.

Which Gyro, which tail motor, which tail ESC, which main motor ESC, which Rx, which pinion, which battery, how are you mixing main/tail.

Are you using the stock main gear and main shaft? How much heavier is the motor vs stock (don't answer if you don't have a sub 100 gram scale).

Thanks!

The stock 4 in 1 does not support brushless motors, how did you pull this off?

alright I used:
jr reciever
cc 25 speed controller
Did the 4 in 1 mod
used a splitter so i could use the 4 in 1 and the cc 25 at the same time 4 in 1 only for gyro and tail control
used stock tail motor

try it, it really works before you diss it

does your tail not drift off if you give throttle to quickly? Mine does that with a brushed 370. Would a smaller brushless not be better -could save on weight and still have the power.

Yes my tail does drift but only with very high input but you can get rid of most of it with mixing and I am sure the dd tail will fix it but I have not done that yet.I'm using a jr 9303 trans so it has throttle to rudder mixing.
A smaller motor would work it's just I have a couple extra 400's I wasn't using. This whole brushless idea was just an test, now it has to be fine tuned. It's an easy upgrade if you have the stuff already.

Barking spider, can you tell us exactly how you hooked everything up?
Maybe some kind exploded view or photos. I would like to go brushless.
Do you think it is possible to use brushless main motor and stock trans/rec?
My current trans. does not support CCPM.
Thanks

Interesting ...

He must have taken the throttle channel out of the RX and hooked it up to the brushless ESC .. The hard part would be the power system. I guess using a Y cable from the batt and giving power to the 4in1 as well as the ESC might work.

Gmax - I just turned on my Blade's stock TX on with the same channel I use on my Trex450XL .. Guess what ... The futaba RX worked well with the blade's stock TX ... the only problem I saw was the amount of movement I was getting with the pitch was about 1/2 what I am setup for on my 9c.
