Just got my blade a couple days ago, threw a lipo and a DD tail on and decided I was bored of upright hovering. Took it to the lounge in the building (Living in a Dorm) and had my friend hold it inverted while i got it to speed and he could feel the push. Trim was off a decent amount, probably a balance issue, other than that things went fine, tail held, stable enough to hover indefinitely and for him to catch at the end. Sweet!

pardon my ignorance, and I know its listed here somewhere but what is a DD tail? Direct Drive? If so do I need to upgrade mine already has a motor back there?

Stock has a gear driven tail (a motor with a pinion driving a larger gear). This motor is known to burn out a lot so lots of us are replacing it with a gws motor driving a small prop right off the motor shaft, hence the direct drive or DD

there's plenty of posts in this blade forum about it

Never thought of trying inverted that way...would be nice to not need the heli to gain the altitude to flip safely. Wonder if I hung the heli from something on the ceiling then slowly spooled up...huh
