I love Runryder! That esky king looks like the best balance between a shogun or trex for manuverability with the low cost of the indestructable Blade cp. I would like to see if helifever will stock lots of parts though. Anybody know what there schedule is for stocking parts let allown getting in new kits?

I e-mailed Heli-Fever about the King as well. They indicated it would be back in stock soon (they were thinking by last week, but it still shows out-of-stock). They said it will be a few weeks for the manufacturer to produce and distribute spares because it's a brand new heli.

I too am keeping a close eye on this heli, it seems to be exaclty what I've been looking for.

Yes the new King does look good ,but heli-fever also sell the Dragonfly #36 barebones for $78, it has a belt drive and does have improvements over the #35. The belt drive is worth considering and going seperates with good servos and electrics could end up being a better deal. Just a thought.

Anyone out there have a 4-in-1 controller for the CP2 they're looking to get rid of at a reasonable price? I actually only need the ESC side of the unit. The RX side appears to be fine. I'd like to avoid replacing the whole unit if possible. This seems like the only part of the heli that isn't dirt cheap. Thanks.

Esky Honey Bee King

Heli-Fever has the King available - just ordered mine. This is the bare-bone version (no servos or ESC), had been waiting on the ARF one. Didn't see this version at the site before as I was hoping they would come out with one. Don't think you can beat the price. Here's the link and they are available:

Atta boy Todd, keep us posted on the king and your success at setting it up. My only concern is the tail gears since everyone else is going to the belt drive ,I'm sure E-sky will bring a belt drive conversion if needed.

How does this (HB KING) heli compare to the new Heli-Max MX400 that Tower is offering for $150?

The Heli-Max MX400 is the X400 that was released after the T-Rex and is a lot like the T-Rex. The King is a smaller lighter package than either the X400 or the Rex.

I wouldn't mind something a _little_ bigger then the Blade for my next heli.

My concern with the King is parts availability. The Blade and TREX type parts seem to be in good supply.

Lee

You will love the Trex - and yes, parts are very easy to find and super cheap!

After a few flights with the Esky blades, I do notice that they bog down the motor pretty hard coming out of some maneuvers. I am using the 9T motor from my Blade aero enhancement kit. I never got enough time with the Eflite sym blades to compare the bogging,

Also, after a few flights with the DD tail I can make some comments. It does fly much smoother, and also the noise from the tail motor is much less than with the geared setup. It blends in with the noise from the main rotor now and sounds a lot better. It seems to hold much better on hard climb outs, but I can't really tell with the motor bogging down like it is. I also haven't tried turning up the gyro gain. But there is no doubt that this DD setup is way more responsive to the gyro inputs, and you can probably get some more gain for sure.

The DD tail motor (can) temp after a 10 minute FF flight using the 4.5 x 3 prop never gets over 100 degrees F. The main motor can gets to 119F and the main motor commutator gets to 126F. This is flying about 5 mins of idle up and 5 mins of normal. I am using a K-type thermistor contact probe for temp readings.

For general FF and FFF, the Esky blades are no problem as-is. That is shown by the low motor temp. They also fly smooth and track well.

But I am still going to try cutting somewhere between 10-20mm off of another set of Esky blades and see if the bogging is helped.

I am still very happy with the Esky parts I am using.
