i was wondering if the fai had what down grade a specific maneuver was worth lets say the new maneuver the inverted diamond at each leg of the diamond what is the down grade if you mess it up is it a half or a whole point and if they dont why?

i see the down grade in the new fai sporting code but they are very vage like the push over with 360 degree pirouette (points will be subtracted for the following reasons pirouette was not 360 degrees or four seconds) so dose that mean if i achieve a crooked line on the way up and just make the pirouette 4 seconds and make it 360 degrees
and come out crooked on the way out it should be 10 pts

i know there is almost know way to entirely micro manage each maneuver but i would think the fai should be more clear on what each
mistake should be worth for every leg of the maneuver that a pilot dose
so all judges can be on the same page.
maybe there is already something in place already that i dont see anywhere.
i am not trying to start a crap storm i know the judges that sit out there donate there time so we can compete and i thank them for that but was wondering if there was a way of becomming more constant

The manaouvers are out of 10, with the hovering manouvers given a K factor of 2,

For each error 1/2 point is deducted and if the error continues 2 points maybe deducted for that one error,

If the machine lands outside the 1.2 meter circle you loose 2 points for that manouver plus 2 points for the next manouver, as the machine is in the wrong place for the next manouver,

you are allowed a 1/2 flybar length off the marker and outside the circle.

I am in the sportsmans level, which is not as strict as the f3C, it really was a level intorduced to get us used to competion flying and to being judged, over here normally you would start off in the sportsmans level and when you finish in 1st place you are promoted to the big boys in F3C, the above is only the tip of the iceberg, there is a full list on the FAI web site.

The 2006 schedules for F3C will all be K factored ONE. Scoring is subjective with each judge scoring what HE sees. I would guarantee, if you enter crooked and exit crooked, you would not receive a high score from any FAI judge I know.
To score more than 6 the maneuver has to be technically done pretty well, to get an 8 or more, the maneuver has to be technically correct, clean, and precise. To score higher, it has to be technically right on AND it has to be pretty. That's not agood technical explanation but, in reality, it seems to work that way. The guys that make these flow, that never seem to be rushed or behind, get all the high scores.

Just would like to add that scores 7.5 and above should only be allocated when manoeuvers are both technically perfect AND consistent with previous manoeuvers.

For instance, if a pair of loops are technically correct, but performed at a different depth than the preceeding rolls, then I'd downmark the loops.

OR

If the transition speeds and stops during the Hovering Triangle vary with those in the Hovering Rectangle, the Triangle would be downmarked.

This super-critical scoring only really comes into effect beyond the 7.5 point level, but it is needed to differentiate those guys fighting for 1st place.
