e-E-Flite Blade CP mCX CX 400-3D > Why go separates?

Hello

Is the Blade CP that great of a platform that you'd want to 'go separates'?! I'm having trouble grasping the reasoning behind all of these upgrades I'm hearing about. I bought the Blade because it is the most sophistication for my limited dollar. I'm not sure of any collective pitch packages out there that are priced anywhere near the Blade CPs $219.99, If I had more money to throw at my RC addiction, I never would of bought the Blade CP. I would of got a model with heading hold and a belt or shaft driven tail. Probably something a lot bigger too... But I'm getting off topic. Any thoughts?

Regards

I've got two Blades; one is stock, and the second has separates. I built it that way so I could use my JR transmitter with it's programming, have a better gyro, and to just do it.

That last point might be the most important. Why do people put bling on their machines? Raptors fly great out of the box. They don't need anodized metal blade grips, and anodized (fill in the blank). People, including me, do it 'cuz we want to.

Karl

Just my opinion; you got what you paid for it.

Why not for this little heli to be a starting point into something better? The initial cost of getting up and practicing your hovers, wreck it a bit and learn the dynamics of helicopter flight and its mechanics on a budget.
If you feel as if the challenges of this hobby are for you, start saving and get yourself a good radio and micro gear at your leasure, and upgrade it first. This way you can learn how to set up the electronics, pitch curves etc. while still be up and flying, Then when and if your ready, you can either set up a new better heli with all new gear on the new fancy radio.
The better the radio you choose will give you less hassle and trouble free flying while giving you the flexibility to adjust more settings without touching the model. Better gyro and speed control, Brushless motors, extended flight times, piece of mind. the list goes on and on..
