for the most part all i am seeing are posts from current model heli pilots...ESP the P-GASSER....what happened to all the kalt pilots???the 60 size was a quality machine, and from what i gather, even with it being all metal, it was still in the 10-12 pound weight range....the same as a p-gasser, correct??. am i a kalt island??

i had many kalts in the past and they were superb machines

of course the very first heli world champ (taya) flew a kalt

although it is now unfairly credited as a tsk for some reason

maybe because taya now works for tsk

there are no kalts sold anymore in england which is a pity

i have fond memories of mine

TSK has been out of business for about three years now. Taya never worked for them, to my knowledge.

Kalt was acquired by Sanwa, which sold it to HPI. HPI never pursued the marketing/selling of the products and let the Kalt stuff die on the vine. There haven't been any new Kalt kits sold anywhere in quite some time.

I would also like to add that the machine that Taya flew was not a KALT machine, but was a full blown TSK machine as available at that time.

In the early days of TSK, they used to manufacte / machine quite a few parts for Kalt.
Lots of the parts looked very similar, but, believe me they were different and the cost also showed this to be true.

kalt

even though kalt has been out of business i am finding that due to their popularity, there are quite a few machines as well as parts popping up on e-bay. this is especially true of e-bay in the united kingdom. that is why i am baffled that i haven't seen any talk from the kalt pilots on this forum. i would love to read about sucesses and problems of current kalt flyers on these pages . larry

Kalt seemed to be more widespread in the UK. The "Space Baron", marketed here in the US as the Enforcer, was a VERY popular plastic 30 over there. When I visited the UK in 1997 and was taken round to several flying sites by Jon Tanner, there were several Enforcers at every place.

The Concept and Shuttle were far more prevalent in the US. I imagine that had as much to do with the marketing strategies of the respective importers than the relative quality of the machines.

Does the Baron 20 count? I still fly it! Origionally flown without a gyro and four servos. Strong steel frame!

steve and butch....very glad kalt pilots ARE still around. the baron 20 sure does count! and i agree 100% strong steel frame...that is what i love about KALT. keep flying. larry

I don't have my Kalt anymore but I do have a couple of old mechanical gyros in a box somewhere. Does that count? ... just kidding :-)

I sold my last Kalt whisper 2 years back but they were nice machines for the day. Still have a photo in my gallery

Fury Extreme 80-90 has similar design Mainframe, Flybar Control Arms, and Engine Cooling Shroud to Kalt Baron 20!

There are a few Kalts for sale on Ebay in the UK , one being a Gasser .
I've recently put one of my Omega Pros back in the air .


At the end of the day , it gets dark .

i stand prepared to be corrected of course.

the only thing that i can say is that "Model Helicopter World" a popular heli mag of the time reported that the winning model was

"a kalt with a few TSK bits" (i think the tail pitch change was TSK)

i still have that edition in my mag collection

from the pics of the winning machine it certainly looks like a kalt to me.

it was reported that Taya did at one time do development work for TSK.

I have many heli's 49 to be exact, what I have on the Kalt scene is the following,

New Original Kalt Gasser silver frame - working

Kalt gasser (Alpha) Black frame x 2 - working

Kalt Omega x 2

Kalt Cyclone

Kalts Hughes 500 (60 size) - refurbishing at present

And many parts

anyone have a front windsheild for a bell 222

I have a bell 222 made by kalt that im diggin out. The front windshield is warped and was wondering if anyone knows where i can get a replacement or how to fix it?

In my gallery there is a pic of an old scale red Kalt Jet Ranger and another of the gear box what a smooth action in the movement. My question what year aprox on this aircraft please will use other parts to get flying again or finally.

I still have my Baron 28 or is it the same as the 20? I have the original Os 28 on it. I also have the cycolne 50 with Webra50 heli engine and mechanical gyro it still flies. Does that make me Kalt fan?

Kalt long Ranger

Still have a brand new Kalt Baron 60 in a Long Ranger body. I installed a .60 OS engine with rear cone start. So i can start it from under like a Kavan. I found that less trouble than the strap method.

I still fly it once a while. It is a great machine. With all metal head. I use to have also a Baron 60 Alphan II. Almost the same machine.
