I'm also "spoiled" by the HH gyros. When I first hovered, (tried to hover), the Blade, I was shocked at my lack of ability to control the tail as well as I would have liked. But with time I got better. I have Reflex XTR and downloaded the files for a T-Rex. I set the gyro sensitivity to a low setting and practiced with this. The tail in the sim reacts very similar to the tail on my Blade now.

Overall, I like my Blade.

like the reflex?

I was looking for a new radid and saw rhe reflex. It loosk to have that tech look I want. How does it hold up as far as ruggedness goes? What unit do you have. Only thing I am disapointed in with the blade is slow shipping on parts.

I'm not sure I understand your question. Reflex XTR is a flight simulator program I run on my computer. I love the program.

I can't say anything bad about the Blade. If you are accustomed to the Heading hold gyros then you are probably not up for this heli. However, if you learn to fly on this little bird, you will have no problems flying anything else.

As far as stability goes, I can fly mine anywhere in my little house including my narrow hallway (comes with lots of practice of course) but when you are first learning you will have a hard time even flying in a large area. It is also great in wind and good for mild aerobatics.

I have heard of some people having difficulty getting their birds to fly even after the sticky collective pitch and for that I have no answers. Maybe sending the 4in1 to Horizon. It seems as though most are as happy as me though.

reflex

by bad. I was thinking the royal TX. Please disregard stupidity.

I am Disapointed that I am not able to find replacement parts for my little ground banger.

The all stock configuration was hard for me to keep under control. I had to move the flybar weights in and install the enhancement kit to make it feel right for me. And after installing the CF blades, it seemed even easier. I was always having to adjust the tracking with the wood blades and the CF blades have never needed readjusting. I've also switched out the stock transmitter with my own and really like being able to set my own throttle & pitch curves.

"Am I dissapointed with my Blade?"

No way! It's true it won't perform like a good glo/gas helicopter or an electric costing 3 times as much but, for $220 bucks, should we really expect it to?

We can't help wanting to upgrade and always strive for perfection. That is the nature of our hobby. We just can't help ourselves. But, in this case, we should exersize restraint and not loose focus about why we bought a "cheap" helicopter. We bought it for fun.

Just add the Aerobatic kit and a good 1320 LiPo and have fun practicing the basics in the back yard. Otherwise, you are going to have a $500 helicopter that works a little better than a $220 helicopter. Instead, take the $280 you saved by not upgrading and use it toward a good gas/glo or high performance electric.

I've got to go shopping now; there is $280 burning a hole in my pocket that will nearly get me a new 601 gyro for my 60 size chopper.

Fly safe and fly often.

I'm glad you are enjoying your Blade. I never expected my Blade to fly like my R-90 or even my R-30,or even my Venture 50,or even my Ergo 50,or even my R-50,or even my R-50 Hyper. I just thought it would be better than it was. So I did exactly what you suggested and ordered a T-Rex. I'll see how that goes.

Disappointed,,,,,,,,,Not me !

I and a friend bought two used Blade Cps from two guys who moved up to the Shogun I. They had had their share of mahor accidnets so i found a few things wrong when i tried flying it.

The training gear on concrete allowed me to scoot around on the floor, harmlessly i might add, whilst learning to steer tailin.

As I gained some control, lift off was another ballgame. The thing would shoot off in most any direction with me frantically moving the stick, and the previous owners yelling " Cut the power ! ".

I've gone through several sets of blades, straughtened the main shaft several times, adjusted and traked the new blades and re tracked the old ones after a 'problem'.

But I know more than I knew a month ago, and now lift off into a fairly stable hover indoors with total ? control. Outdoors is another subject and finding the no wind times is tough.

But for 150 each used, including extra batteries and chargers and whole wad of spares, it is a real bargain.

I bought a brand new one so I would have a spare and it flew very well right out of the box. A few flights outdoors managed to move it into the used category, but some parts and time makes it good as new.

Those who criticize the Blade CP prolly have a lot more money to spend. My friends who went on the the Shoguns instantly were better pilots with the faster head speed, larger ship and HH gyros.

I'll be trying the ducted fan tail assembly and may also try the DD tail motor too.

Kinda reminds me of the previous owners asking the lady at the spare parts store how long the Blade would fly on the stock battery. She said it would be " the longest 8 minutes of your life " and she was right. I now use the 1320 Lipos in the stock Blade, and limit my flights to a minute or so. Have the two heatsinks installed and the training gear. Just don't need more,,,,,,,,,,,,

Hmmmm. Well I flew my blade with the upgrade kit and a 1050 tanic lipo on it this afternoon in almost no wind conditions. I had to work on it a bit to stop a vibration. But still when i was doing circuits the tail was buzz buzz buzzing to keep straight. I know thats how it works as it's very indirect using a stop start motor but i just don't like it. Sure I can control it.
I understand it's cheap. And it's fairly durable. I still think I'll sell mine and go to a trex or something with a direct drive tail. It's ok but don't think it's my cup of tea. (although my wife wants me to keep it just because it looks cute....women seesh)
