I was a bit surprised to see Curtis using the new Vibe canopy for the F3C Worlds. He had stated that he designed the Vigor CS for FAI and would continue to use it. I also noticed Wayne is flying a fuselage for the Worlds having flown pod and boom in the past few Worlds.

Jason,
Phew, I was worried when you said the Italians were going "nude." I think the word you really meant is "shirtless."

Keep us posted.

Well it looks like another stunning pick for the WC site based on Simon Lockingtons recount of the situation. The food sucks, the rooms are small and tight and the weather is hot not to mention the organization of the event.

Sounds like a guy with a Pizza Hut delivery service could make a killing. Damn, where's that franchise application?

Kinda depends on who your travel agent was. Our guys are staying at some kind of villa, and their practice site was the backyard of said villa. Those with less connections faired, uh......, like you said. The site itself looks to redefine the word huge, though it seems like it rained there last about a decade ago .

Wayne looks to be flying in a manner consitent with the 12-14 hours per day, 6-7 days per week, that he put over the past 6-8 weeks getting prepared for the event. Yes, guys, I mean that many hours. Curtis is a machine as usual.

Nope.

He's professional pilot/consultant flying for Futaba, Kyosho, and YS. Even though he gets paid to fly "toys", how would you like to work those hours for what I promise you is not a ton of money ?

His typical days were to arrive at the practice field at about 11 am, fly until early dusk or so, then go home and work until about midnight or later building models or wrenching on the existing ones. The few days with crappy weather were a bit lighter but not a lot. Somewhere in there he still had to find to for his home and wife. Keeping three full fuse models absolutely perfectly trimmed and ready to go PLUS practicing with them is a double full time job. Our boys don't have full time paid mechanics like the Japanese do.

I have to concur. Pizza the Hutt, a.k.a. Don Wade is Wayne's mechanic/slave for the WC's and even the fat boy has trouble keeping up with the schedule.

Damn, did I say that?
