What else can you ask for? Everything in one box and very affordable.
Ready to fly out of the box right side up or inverted (better with the upgrade). Parts are cheap and readily available at any lhs. Just amazing how stable it is at hover.

Price! They could have easly charged twice as much for parts/upgrades (like many other companies do) and I don't think many people would've complained.

It wont do 3D straight from the box but its close. Just needs the $20 Aero Kit and then look out. Mine does 3d Right from the box but usually it hits the ground right in the middle of it.

I Hate waking up to hear :Just relax, the Ambulance is on the way

I saw an article online about the Blade CP on the Horizon website back months before it came out. I joined RunRyder shortly after that as I was struggling to fly my colco t-bird (gws dragonfly clone). Than the Blade CP came out, thought I missed the first shipment until I was on the forum and Chris from heliworks posted that his store had 3 left so I got one of those three. I have been enjoying able to hover and fly since I bought the blade cp and I can afford it.

My reasons are the same as others. Fun heli at a very attractive price. It's started to become my "other sim". There are times when I don't want to load up the Raptors and all the gear and head out to the field. I can fly my BCP outside my front door. I take it to work and burn of a couple of battery packs during lunch. All this is pretty hard, and sometimes too dangerous, to do with a nitro machine. So fart, I've got one stock, right out of the box, and a second airframe that I'm in the process of installing individual components.

I was really looking hard at getting a Trex when Jason Merkle from Horizon Hobbys showed me the Blade CP at the Anaheim RC Expo a few months ago. At that time the Blade wasn't even available. Jason said the cost would be around $220 including the transmitter. In my mind I figured this little heli had to be a piece of junk if they were only selling it for $220 including the transmitter. Especially when I figured that it was going to cost me about $800 to buy a Trex in the configuration that I was going to build.

So I sat back and watched others buy this thing and run it through the ringer. Outside of a few problems like the sticky collective and tail motor screws falling out, (both easy fixes), everyone on RunRyder was enjoying this little $220 heli. Our local hobby shop, who doesn't even stock any heli parts what so ever even started carrying the Blade CP as well as all the spare parts & enhancement parts. I took this as an omen and bought the Blade.

All I can say is WOW! I think I even said it backwards. WOW!

What really made a difference for me was moving the flybar weights all the way in, install the enhancement kit with 900mah lipos and the carbon fiber blades. I have a TP1320 and a few TP900's and I like the 900's better.

I see genovia is doing some marketing research for his employer, Century

Out of the box with the flat bottom blades and 8-cell NiMh pack the Blade CP is actually capable of loops and rolls. It will not sustain inverted flight, which is to be expected since it is equipped with flat bottom blades.

Chuck -

It was great to meet you and many others at the show! Did you have a chance to see some of the demos we flew as well? Lots of guys who saw the heli in the booth were even more excited when they actually saw the heli fly!

LVRCFlyer,

My intentions are righteous. I fly 3D (yeah right, I crash 3D ) The micro world are evolving, yesterday was the FP, now we are playing with CP.

In The Heliworld, we want something that will grow with us and not out grow us.

LVRCFlyer,

Sorry Jason, I missed your demo flights. We left the show early and hit a couple hobby shops on the way out of town.

I don't know which heli is more fun to fly. Your old eRapp50, or this little Blade CP. Both have their own place on the fun scale.

Jason's good I'm glad that your here helping out in the forums...

Thanks to you too Boyd, your enthusiastic contributions and your informative thread is what I read at times to format my threads, when I'm building or doing a fix thread...

I stepped into this forum, because I like what I have been reading in this forum, a lot of sharing and no bashing... I will be crossing two forums Here and Century electric forum to share and not to put down a product.

There is soooo much to learn in so little time

That's what it's supposed to be all about - make good things better. When folks work together, irregardless of their company affiliations, all can benefit . Along with this practice is that you will draw more new blood into the sport. When the bickering, slandering, and back stabbing occurs is when folks are driven off in massive numbers. If you don't believe me then go look at the Foamies forum with the Hydrofoam. Was a great thing until folks started getting nasty with one another - saw a lot of "unsubscribes" posted as folks got turned off and sick of it. Hey, I own Hummers, the Blade, T-REX, Raptors..........If it's a good thing - I'll buy it. I don't care who sells it or where it's made. If the product is decent, service is good, the pricing is right, and the parts are available when the product is released, then I start looking at parting with some of my cash. If it's really good, then I go into my "Pig Mode" and get a second helping - can't just have one of a really good thing when you can have 2 of 'em, right??
Next, don't be afraid of true and accurate reviews. Anyone can candy coat anything. Nothings perfect and I'm sure that most of us here know and accept that. As long as we know that we won't be left hanging, that's where the wheat gets seperated from the shaft. If there's a problem, be truthful and acknowledge it and get some solutions thrown out there for us to work with. This is what has occurred with the Blade. Yep, there were some issues and yes, I had a glitcher. But, with all the help and support I managed to correct my problems and am well pleased. Did it sour me on the product - No. Would I buy another - Yes as long as Horizon keeps on it and remains the course. Boyd, did an excellent review of the Blade!! That's the type of review I like to see!! No candy coating or hype, just the raw facts. When I see a review like that I would be far less nervous about getting the product being reviewed as I know I'm getting the straight on it. Nothing like seeing all the in's and out's with what you can do about it all right there in a nice neat package. Would like to see Boyd do more of reviews on new products.
Well, Genovia - it's a long winded answer, but covers everything I can think of that counts from my angle. Hope it helps.

Jus for clarification the blade CP is NOT a 3d machine, it is hard enough to get it inverted, flips are out of the question

You are correct David - that is why we do not advertise the Blade CP as a "3D" machine when so many others in this class have. It is capable of loops, rolls and inverted flying with the AEK and 3S LiPo packs installed though, and with some practice, its easy to get it inverted. I've flipped the "stock" BCP with AEK and 3S 860 EFL LiPo packs inverted while flying demos indoors with ceilings only 30 feet high

That said, some upcoming products will allow the BCP to better perform flips, tumbles and more 3D-like manuevers
