Century Hawk - Falcon - Raven - Predator > Upgrade my Falcon V1 engine from OS46 to OS50

Lightest 50 size helicopter on market are Falcon & Raven, I'm thinking to upgrade my Falcon V1 engine from OS46 to OS50. I have century's cn3033 muffler also need to upgrade to cn3033b or a hatori. Any body have some suggestion?

While I certainly have been enjoying my V2 Falcon SE I would not classify them as the lightest. Mine weights 7lbs 10ozs. That is with CF goodies, an 2700 4.8v "A" sized NIMH battery pack, and Hurricane blades, and MA white paddles.

I would be interested to know what the Raptor 50 and Sceadu 50 weigh but having held them by hand I think the Raptor and Sceadu may be lighter.

Anyhow, if you want to go with the OS .50 then just pickup a Raptor 50 muffler. These are cheap and put out as much if not more power than the Hatori 50 mufflers. Mine does anyhow.....

I have tried the CN3033B with poor results. It is to small of an expansion chamber for the OS .50. It works good but you won't get optimal power out of it. I have one for sale if you want it. $25 shipped.

Hi Lift,
Call century today, they say cn3033b is same length like TT muffler, I ask Richard and he check out both muffler then call me back, Richard told me new cn3033b is different like older model, now is bigger chamber.

Thanks for the advise and offer, I'm going give them a try then let you guy know.

Length....

Diameter:
CN3033B = 40mm
Raptor50 = 40mm

Overall Length(front to stinger):
CN3033B = 170mm
Raptor50 = 180mm

Expansion Chamber Length(front to internal baffle):
CN3033B = 112mm
Raptor 50 = 150 mm

Unless they have redesigned the muffler since May of this year then I doubt what they told you is correct.

After running a 3/8" drillbit from the stinger end thru the internal baffle the muffler REALLY produced more power. I got the idea from Fritz the Cat's website. I would say at least a 25% increase in power. But, I did notice a change in the exhaust tone and Db.

The Raptor 50 is producing almost as much power as the drilled out CN3033B but is MUCH quieter.
