| I am so sorry guys! For some reason...I had your pely in my spam folder. I never got the replies.
Jodini....no elevator. I have found that with the elevator, you are too dependant on air speed to be effective. One of my early gyros had the elevator...I did not like the control response. I am using direct pitch control. Or in other words, the head pivots forward and backwards like a helicopter. This makes for a more responsive control. Makes landing a real pleasure by pulling the rotors back to slow down and then level off and touch down like a feather. Of course there is also rudder and roll control. I use more rudder input that roll. Roll gives the gyro the proper attitude and the rudder will turn it easily. It will turn with just roll control, but it is a big turn. I like to turn quicker than that.
fitenfyer....thanks for the kind words. I love the way the rotor sound also! Just think....they are scratch built! My plans show you how to fabricate, cover and balance a set of blades that are awesome! Guys at the field will not beleive you made them. Especially the old farts! I had the most fun showing the old farts photos of the build process. Most of them still can not accept it!
I have the plans on ebay, or my homepages. Also doing a build thread on RC Groups inthe Autogyro section. Check it out! Lots of details on the build.
