| Basically you fly the heli up high,a few hundred feet,then
stick the tail pointing straight down,let it fall and exit as late as you dare leave it into level flight.Inverted exit is more dramatic.
It's not the fall that's stressful,unless the rotorhead seriously overspeeds but more the exit,especially quick 90 degree direction change ones.
If it seriously overspeeds the effective weight of the blade is more and so are the stresses on the roots.If blades are used that flex too much they could chop the boom off on the exit.If unstable blades are used and start to flutter violently it could also self destruct the heli on the way down or at the exit. |
