| I bought the Hobbico Ultra Tote Complete Combo from my LHS. I asked around and most said this would work well. I haven't used anything yet so I can't speak to the practicality of the “combo”. Just checking prices on what you get, if you buy it for $120 US (the average street price; I did get mine for just under $110) you save about $10 US vs buying all the contents separate.
If you do like this particular tote the Tower Hobby price is $19.99 for it unfinished, or $32.99 finished in your choice of yellow, red, white or blue. I personally spent about 4 hours assembling, probably 2 hours with a plane and sandpaper to get the parts to fit and clean up the rough edges. Add another 3 plus hours with some wood putty and heavy duty enamel to finish it out. So unless you like wood working, sanding, and finishing, save yourself the 10 hours and cough up the extra $13 to get it pre-built.
