e-Lite Machines Corona > Frequent problem I have

Hello, recently, I fixed this little problem I had with the Corona--Main rotorblades not enough RPM and not rotating as fast as shaft is spinning--no big deal, something loose on main shaft--but, this is about the ninth time within a year this has occured. See, that screw between the swashplate and the featherplate that fits beside that notch on the shaft to keep main rotorhead spinning, wears down to the point that big notches are missing from the screw--causing loosening from main shaft. My guess is this is from "fast starts" with throttle. I have the Hacker setup and the master series of ESC, which I've read is considered a "steppy" ESC. Maybe to prevent the fast starts I should program my radio (exponential, I think), for smoother starts--I've been a bit lazy about using all the options on the radio. Is this an issue with anyone else? Thanks, Steve.

I constantly replaced that bolt. I wonder if a machine screw with a long shoulder at the head wouldn't get beat up as much.

Thanks for response, ComputerBob. Yep, it's gotta be one of two things, or a combination of both. Either fast starts are spinning the shaft too quickly, making the notch chew away at that screw---or, it's an inherent small flaw in the design and replacing that screw often is just something that's gotta be done. Later, Steve.

ComputerBob, I almost forgot to say that I thought of maybe a machine screw too. Gonna buy one next time in store.--One thing I will tell you, is that don't force a larger screw in there thinking its gonna solve the problem. I tried it months ago--it didn't work--hole was then too big to fit correct screw--had to buy that part that screw goes through again. Later, Steve.

I guess the ultimate solution is an aluminum hub where a set screw goes in from the edge and not through the side.
