Short story...Breaking in a new Piston,Ring and Liner. Fourth rich tank,...about 60 feet up... Motor goes south. Auto down and pull the muffler....Ouch! Huge score marks.

Pulled the engine this evening...and this it what it looked like:

and....

Trashed the con rod and scored the crank case!

Totaly my fault.

I love this sport!

Mighty fine job!!!

You win mine wasn't that bad! I only broke the piston top off above the ring on about 10 deg of it.

Yeah how was it your fault? Did you use an E-Clip

Fault....

Well...i did not replace the clips...used the old ones.

And.... I don't think i got one of them locked into the tiny groove around the wrist pin race.

So I am guessing it is my fault...I rebuilt the engine.
