e-E-Flite Blade CP CX 400-3D > Blade CP+ glitching?

I must say, This is the best flying small electric I have tried. Just wondering if anyone was having glitches, and have moved/adjusted the motor/servo leads, and unwrapped the antenna from the LG.

I rewrapped the antenna around the skid which is made of a non-conductive plastic. Then I wrapped it in Scotch tape. Works well for me.

Do I dare ask where you got the anodized blade grips and swashplate?

tell us!

Bling - Bling !!

Dare I dream - *metal* ball joints!

btw - do you have any chaffing of the antenna wrapped around the bottom of the skids? I did the same thing, but used a busted up skid and tied it to the carbon uprights of the landing gear.

...yep...

The antenna is covered in wrapping tape after it's coiled around the skid. The skids have small lengths of fuel tubing at all four skid ends that keep the antenna off the ground. The CNC aluminum parts are from Century and were intended for their HummingBirds. I adapted them to one of my Blades.

I had a problem with glitches on one flight after landing I found that the transmitter antenna was loose. I turned it tight and have not had any glitches since then.

Hey jschenck.

These things are relatively new. How did you get a busted up landing skid already?

Landing skid is nothing. mine broke at the frame where it mounts. You have to buy the whole frame and totally rebuild it. I'm almost done. The pin that goes throught the main shaft was hard to get out it broke so I'm looking for something to take it's place.

I got the little pin through the main shaft out with some strong pulling with needle nose pliers; however, ten minutes later I dropped it on the floor of my garage and I haven't found it yet.

Went to the LHS and bought some piano wire about the right size and used it. so far so good but it was just a tiny bit smaller diameter than the stock pin so I bent it on the ends slightly so it can't come out. My next thought was to try the sewing department of Walmart to find a perfect sewing needle to cut up into pieces. I may try that yet but so far the piano wire is holding.

The LHS didn't have any spare parts which included the little pins. I wonder if it's in ANY of the spares packages.

As far as glitching, I haven't seen any glitches but occasionally the heli will do a 180 or a 360 piro when I least expect it. It's VERY exciting. It's usually when stopping forward flight and trying to piro the tail around. It will suddenly do a very fast and unexpected piro on its own. I get this once every 2 or 3 flights.

Blade

I have put a couple more flights on it, and I am wondering if it is glitching, or the characteristics of how the tail works, that, and the fact that I can leave things alone, and turned the gain up a bit. I do wish the gyro had some type of heading lock on it.

I went to my wife's sewing box and found a needle that worked perfect for that main shaft pin. I cut each end filed it and used some epoxy on each end. Now if we could get a better landing skid in the first place.

The rotor head pin was supposed to be included with the "Center Hub & Spindle" EFLH1145. Horizon has not had any to include with this part, .041 safety wire works well, just taper one end and it will hold well without glue. This wire is .002 larger than the original pin but fits the shaft and the plastic hub. Wire is available at any airport which has a repair facility.

Pin For Main Shaft

I used a small body clip that I use for My R/C Cars to hold the body to the frame. Easy to get on and off an you can buy at your LHS.

Will work for blades and parts

just broke my pin

I just broke my mainshaft pin tonight, I knew I wasn't ready for that idle up switch. Forgot to turn it of when I got disoriented and chopped the throttle...you know the rest. Seems my only damage is this broken pin. I have pulled the two pieces that stuck out of each side but I can't seem to line the holes up to push out the piece left in the shaft. The holes are too small for me to see into the get it lined up. How do I get the head off to expose the shaft so I can knock it out of there???

Help please,

Sewing needles are a bit brittle.

I'd use something softer. Just some small music wire or a paper clip.

Put a bend on it in the middle for a friction fit like the original, or bend each end a bit to keep it from falling out in flight.

I noticed some glitching on a friend's Blade when it was low to the ground. Up high it was fine. Say, about 10 feet or so.
