How do you mean?

I just ran mine extremely rich for the first 3-4 tanks and then closed the needle bit by bit on consequent flights as I felt necessary. It's still a bit rich I think, but then no one ever broke an engine while it was rich did they.

Did have a problem with a colleague's engine though in that the idle mixture screw was faulty and we couldn't get a decent run at all. The needle is 'connected' to the adjustment screw by a magnet - on mine the magnet attracts the needle, but on his it was repelling the needle causing an excessively lean mixture. It was subsequently replaced!

Only my thoughts.

the Lottle carb is terrible. Why does every body claim it is so good. If I knew how bad this carb is I would have bought the stock OS. So far I have had to install a perry pump and regulator to get it to run some what better. It makes no difference if it is 0 or 15% nitro.

I've been flying my ThreeDeeNT complete with lotterle carb all day today, and have had the best day for ages.

Haven't really heard of general problems with these carbs and my experience with a few of them has been very positive (never tried any nitro through it though).

Hi Squirrel,

what kind of problems do You have with the Loetterle?
From my point of view its one of the best carbs available but You have to keep in mind that with the standard mixture needle 1° 50' it´s designed for 0% Nitro and an oil (10-15% Carbulin/ Synth Glow) with very low viscosity. Here in Germany most pilots love it, as it fits our straigth fuel in combination with tuned pipes! If You want to use Nitro or oil with higher viscosity (Cool Power for example) You will have to use a different mixture needle. For Cool power 0% I would use the 2°, with Nitro You can use a 2° 10', 2° 20' or even the 2° 30' for around 25 % nitro. I have no experience with Nitro flying, but Thomas Loetterle surely will be able to supply the right needle for Your fuel.

Best Regards
