And all the new pilots, please also remember that learning to fly a RC aircraft also carries with it certian responsibilities. Check with the AMA about local clubs in your area. These little helis fly on the same frequencies that all of us that fly use. And lots of people can tell stories about getting "hit", interfered with, from someone on the same channel. With all these aircraft capable of being flown in almost any back yard, you never know if the guy down the street is flying his new Blade on the same channel you are on.
Secondly, knowing the local club, will keep you either safer flying with them, or if you choose not to, at least you can make sure you are far enough away not cause interference yourself. Crashing a small electric, while unpleasent, does not have the same potential to cause damage and injury as some of the 60-90 size helis and planes being flown at local clubs.
Welcome to helicopters, have fun and be safe
Just remember -- if the world didn't suck, we would fall off. |
