PICTURES

I am looking for pictures of anybodies machines. I am trying to find ideas. Mine is starting to peel, milk jug canopy you know. Not only that but I like to collect pictures as well, so if there are any pictures out there of Falcons or Hawks I would love to get them.

I like your machine, in fact three months after buying mine Century came out with your machine. If I'd only known.

It took some sanding and taping, but the colors came out well. They are fluorescent yellow and orange, well it looks more pink in pictures. This paint job has lasted just over a year now! I did not expect it too but now I'am looking for better ideas. I like the look on the new Preditor.

BUT I don't know how to make lightning bolts.

Colors

Bill,
Personally, I would certainly stay away from purples. They turn to black in the sky. I like yellow, red, orange, neons.

As far as designs you can get some of the Parma RC Car body masking designs and cheat off those.

As my pictures indicate I like contrasting colors. Yellow & Blace, or White & Red, or Yellow & Purple(main color needs to be yellow for the reason above). Try finding some X-Cell SE or Graphite canopies to consider since they have a similar overall canopy shape.

Cool Ideas!

The only question is, is there a good reason to change the canopy? Won't the milk jug work well enough? The only reason I ask is I don't want to spend $60 on a fiberglass one if I don't have to. The next big ticket item for me would be a great gyro and servo setup, and that will cost almost as much as the heli. And believe me that is a hard sell to my wife!!

Gyro

Bill,
Oops! Sorry if I confused you but I was only recommending you to LOOK at the canopy graphics designs around that are on the X-Cell SE or Graphite style canopies. NOT to buy one for the Falcon. Just to clear that up.

As far as a gyro I think the GY 401 is about as good as it gets for the sport flier. If you have no intention on learning 3D then GY240 will work fine. Just be sure to get the Futaba 9253 digital servo to go with it. Excellent holding power and their AVCS(heading hold) is pretty darn solid. Don't be surprised if others chime in and recommend the same.

Take a look at Century's pricing on the GY 401 combo or send John Wu at Heli-Kraft.com an e-mail . Good guy and great prices and service. I think the US pricing on the GY series has been adjusted to deal with the all the lost sales to overseas retailers. So, do a little research and you will probably end up spending between $190 - $220 for the combo.

Bill, that picture of the preditor, is that the new 60 size heli that century is comming out with? Sure would like to see some mechanics on that bad boy.

Payton, you have 2 heli's and 3 shelves in your pics. Are you planning on building another one any time soon. Seems like I am always looking ahead to the next building project. Let's see, what will it be, Fury, Preditor, Sheadu, Raptor. There are just so many to choose from.

Next Heli

Gforce,
I am not sure what will be next. I am sitting tight right now because employment concerns. But, I hope to put the Falcon in a Bell 47G or other scale project next year maybe. I have been considering getting another R60 to go with my current fleet though. I really like the Raptor 60. Nice heli with alot of bang for buck!!

May be I'll try that Predator!! Looks like alot of parts commonality with the Falcon. Hmmmm..............

Man does that baby look rigid. And is that some 120 deg ccpm going on there? Looks like century is serious about this one. Wonder what the price tag will be?

Bill, I was just checking out your gallery. Is that an extra long tail boom on your falcon. Looks long. And what is the thing attached to the falcon in the other picture with wheels on it. Is that some kind of training system.

The thing on the bottom is a scratch built camera pod.

It can only tilt and take pictures, for now. It cost me somewhere around $50. I recently bought a digital camera for $48 and here is a picture from out in front of my driveway.

Its pretty cool!

Here's the mechanics of the tilt.

As for the length of the boom, it is the standard one that came with it, I guess pictures can add length as well as pounds to people. LOL.

A fellow at my club who is also into RC cars told us that he carefully boils his plastic bodies which are made of the same material with dye.

I lost my infamous tag line.
