Mercury 50

I have (2) Mercury 50's,I purchased my first one in June and was so happy with it that I got another one in Nov.The best machine I have flown.Dual boom supports and a Sullivan SS 16 oz. tank are a must, the tank included is a baron tank and with an OS 50 it will suck it dry in about 4 minutes.

Do you have a digital camera? I would like to see a picture of your tank installation. We have a .46 in ours. Has around 15 gallons thru it so far with no malfunctions. A very sturdy machine. Thinking of putting a new one together with a 50.

Gas tank

I do not have a camera,But can tell you it is mounted the same as in the Raptor,on its side.I used prosthetic gel on both sides of the tank to take up space and prevent chafing. The gyro platform is removed and the gyro is moved to the nose.

What is "prosthetic gel" ??? Does it glue the tank in or are you just holding the tank in place with friction?

Thanks,
Mike

CRIP Do you mean 94322. They would work fine. I wish I had a little more information on the metal grips. Our .46 uses the plastic ones. We run a low head speed 1720 on all our helis. Our 60's are at 1740 for 3D. and the FAI Zeus is at 1320. At them head speeds I know we would not invest in the metal grips. If anyone else has any input to metal grips on the Mercury 50 please add it.
