JR Heli Vibe - Airskipper - Sylphide - Venture > Sealing stickers to Vigor Std Canopy

Hi guys,
I"ve brought a used Vigor Std which I've spent the last three nights tearing down and inspecting.
I've got some stickers left over from my CS which I'm intending on putting on the Std Canopy to give it a 'new' look as the old ones are pealing and such.
I soaked the canopy in warm soapy water and cleaned off all the oil residue and got it all clean and nice looking.

My question is, once I get the new stickers on, what can I do to minimise the chance of them pealing off again, and as an extra bonus, maybe 'shine' the dull canopy up a little? I know it's not fibreglass and there's only so much you can expect etc.

Thanks,
Si

Hey Si;

Here is what I do. Make sure all stickers are ready to go. wash oil from your hands, clean the canopy using paper towl and Acetone used very sparingly and quickly apply the decal. let sit for few hrs. Now get some tooth picks and dip into plastic type Cyno and touch up the corners of the decals. let dry normally and you should be ok for a long time...and your canopy too

Clear coat

As you probably already know, an automotive clearcoat is the best of all methods. It will not only protect the labels and label adhesive, but will give you that nice mirror finish.

I'd be happy to shoot two coats of clear for you for $10, plus return postage if you want.

Bill, I'd love to take you up on your offer, but shipping from New Zealand to the US would be pretty spectacular I reckon . I'll ask the bloke who did my CS canopy if he could do it.

Thanks,
Si

I didn't do anything to my std. canopy other than clean it really well before putting the decals on. I have had my Vigor for almost two years now and the decals still look pretty good (but not perfect), even after two hard crashes. I think if you clean your heli fairly well after each flying session the decals should stay decent looking for some time.
