| I own 2 Trex's, 2 Shoguns and 1 X-400. This is the most stable flying micro out of the bunch. It practically hovers itself. I did have some quality control issues since a couple of metal cross members were missing. They were only 2 bucks so it wasn't a big deal.
I had two issues while flying.
1. The tail case turned while flying causing the blade grips to self
destruct. I have since put a little ca on the tail case which made
things alot better.
2. I was using an align 400S motor which overheated and caused the heli to fall out of the sky. The case of the motor is loose and the insides of the motor dropped causing the pinion to lose contact with the the main gear. I don't blame this on the heli though. I only broke the landing struts and nothing else..
I have not upgraded anything in the x-400. Everything is stock. I don't have the same problems that others have had with the main gear.
I am going to try a Mega 16-15-3 next to see how it flies.
I remember my first Trex. It didn't fly worth a darn. The tail and main gears had to be replaced by Align because they were blowing up from too much speed. There was so much slop in the controls that you had to put a lot of work into making it fly right. The Flybar arms stripped very easy . I know Align has fixed all these problems but it took them a few tries.
If you are looking for a micro that flips and rolls at the slightest touch of the controls then the Trex is your heli. If you are looking for a stable nice flying micro then the X-400 is much better. |
