Hello all,

I need help from pilot who have been there done that kinda thing w/the set up I have.
I am upgrading my std ergo-46 w/the os-50 along w/a curtis MP or the KSJ 46 muffler...can't seem to make up my mind yet so I need advise w/pilots who went through the similar path. The heli set up with the v-blades wide chord 600's and basically its all hoped up w/the KSJ parts from head to the tail assy. The problem is that I only have the KSJ clutch bell system w/the 9T pinion gear for right now and I heard that its best to use the 10T pinion gear rather than the 9T gear,the 600 has the wide chord I think 60mm...is it enough to load the engine w/out over reving it to much or should I just get the 10T. Help on any advise and recomendation... ....BTW I will be flying w/the cp-15%.

I did experiment with the muscle pipe some time ago, before stretching the tail boom and changing to a 10t pinion. It had tons of power, but was difficult to keep from overspeeding. I am now using a 60 size pipe. Using the 9t pinion (stock) the motor had to turn up pretty high to get the desired headspeed. As a result it was easy to get into overspeeding. I recently went to the 10t pinion. I have plenty of power without the overspeeding problem. If you look at the spec.s for the OS50 you will note where the torque band peaks for the RPM. With the stock ratio (9.78) you are on the high side of the band and have none left to use. The 8.8 ratio places you closer to the bottom of the band. The Sceadu also uses the 8.8 ratio. Hope this helps.
