Yes in flight

Scared the you know what out of me it sounded like it pitched a blade.I did not realize at first the engine quit.I have never practiced auto's on anything other than the sim.It really did not fall as fast as I thought it would.Just before that I was doing some real fast forward flight away from me about 20 feet over the Alfalfa field behind me,but I was hovering when it quit about 40 feet in the air over bare ground, and it is still unhurt.About the engine more power than those little blades can use at least at this point in my flying.

I had a rod failure on my hirobo 36 also today after about two gallons through it. I loved this engine and I am really sad to see it break. It broke in flight and I was over some tall weeds at about eye level. Went down in the thick stuff and bent a tail boom, broke a boom support, and bent the flybar. Not too bad. I emailed cyberheli to see if it is under warrantee, but they are 'sluggish' in response to emails because they are restocking or something. Hope I can get a replacement or refund. I wonder if this is a weak point on these engines or just bad luck?? It was on a raptor 30 with weston pipe and coolpower 30%.

Buy in U.S.A

I realize it is like a crap shoot, but that is why I buy in the states.Jeff Green offers the best support, and mine is on the way back to him, where it will be taken care of.Now back to the rod problem,I bought another new one so I would not have to wait for the other one to come back.So far it is running really good just like the last one did.Did you take yours apart? and did it break right where the rod tapers down and meets the pin end ? like in my picture

Yeah, it broke at the end. It also shattered about a quarter of the piston also. It's a real mess. I'm thinking it's kind of a weak point in that engine and I don't think that I want to buy another one. I was thinking about a webra.

Nipps85,

Please send it back for a shop credit. We do not carry this motor anymore for obvious reasons so cannot provide you with a replacement.

Address is on the bottom of the invoice.

Thank you so much. I was kind of worried that I would be out of luck. I guess everything I've heard about you is true. I'll send it back. Cheap prices and great service...wow.
